One of our air conditioners pooped out, so the only parts of our house that are habitable are our bedroom and the basement, where we have a big TV. So I quit making dinner, or desserts, or anything. Haven't even gone to the store! I have felt a little hungry when going to bed, but figured it was just because I didn't snack before going to bed.
Well, I weighed myself today, and I have lost 8 pounds! I had about 10 to lose, and we aren't getting the new air conditioner for another week, so I should be good!
Whenever I have needed to lose more than a couple pounds, I need a reset. One time I drank weight lose shakes for a week. This time I just didn't eat much for a couple weeks because it was too hot. I just don't do well losing it gradually at the start. I need a reset.
Do you have a reset you use when you want to lose weight?

I don't understand what you mean by reset based on your post. It sounds like you're saying you resort to an unpredictable pattern of eating, some days starving yourself, some days not. Unless I read your post wrong it sounds like what you're doing is unhealthy to say the least.
It doesn't sound like the method you're describing here does well for you either, if you keep gaining the weight, reset, gain weight, reset and on and on.

I am actually reading your post the same as Led, that you choose a quick hit option to drop water weight and consider it weight loss. I am not sure that is the right approach. A reset is usually a matter of going back to basics when things are not going as planned. So you remeasure yourself and reset your goals and begin active food logging and daily activity. Its certainly not shakes and starvation. If you are pleased with your results- then I am pleased for you, but I don't think the approach is healthy...

No judgement here. Resets are important. For me it usually happens when i am tired of being tired. I throw all of the junk out of the kitchen and juice. Or metaphorically i do. Not usually extreme but when you are really out of control with impulse eating a reset helps drastically.
These move bands are nice and the food tracking is a good mindfulness tool to make one accountable. I find that when i over indulge and log it all i am never as out of control as my guilt implies. When i do well it is helpful to see concrete data.
Glad that air conditioner broke!
