New FITBIT user

Hello everyone! My sister bought me a FITBIT for Mother's Day. This is the first week I have used it and my sister is my only friend. More than 4 years ago I lost about 70 pounds and kept it off for more than a year. Fast forward to now...Life happened and I have a busy life with a 2 year and husband. Now I need to lose 63 pounds! Looking for more friends to stay motivated!

Hello everyone,

I have had a Fitbit for a couple of months now. I stopped because life got in the way of me losing weight and following through on my personal goals. I am currently a student and I just switched from full time to part time at work since I was accepted into nursing school this fall. I used to be super skinny and healthy, now I'm super overweight (technically obese). In January 13' I was 197 lbs but did WW and lost 24 lbs. I'm looking to lose around 62 lbs at the least, which will bring me down to 120... I am 5'2" and weigh 182 lbs right now, give or take... Gained some weight back obviously. So I need big time motivation since I'm in school and working... It consumes most of my life... As well as a lazy boyfriend. LOL! What small things can I do to begin this process again?! I'm already starting to wear my Fitbit again (tomorrow).

Nice meeting all of you, hope to have some sharable ideas!

My sister and I do different challenges every week or every other week. Sometimes the challenge are steps or weight loss. We are starting a new challenge to see who can do the most push ups and jumping jacks in one minute. Then whoever wins gets a gift from the other....no food or drink prizes. My sister won a challenge and she wanted new body wash since she has been working out and showering more. If I win the next one i get wireless headphones.

We also took pictures today in outfits that are too little and we will take pictures the first of every month to see the difference..

My profile picture is also our weight loss jars. My jars sit on my fireplace and I see them every day. Each rock represents 1/2 pound.

These are just a few ideas...I'll let you know when we do new things.

That is awesome that you have your sister to do challenges with! I wish I had someone to do that with. Unfortunately I do not. I live with my [lazy] boyfriend. By lazy, I mean super inactive. I tried meeting up with a friend who lives close but she recently had a child and lost her car. So I need to be more independent with my weight loss. How did you guys start out?

Haha my hubby is lazy too but super supportive! My sis lives in Ohio and I
live in Georgia so we are creative with challenges...a lot of text and
emails.
My sister won a fitbit at work for her walking group logging the most
miles. So she bought me one and we just started.

Add my sis as a friend and we will both encourage you! jjcylar@gmail.com

Oh that is super cool! My bf got me this Fitbit because I wanted to try it out when I was doing the whole weightloss thing. That is super awesome that you two challenge eachother. I have to do that. I just wish someone close to me would do it with me. Even though you guys don't live close, you two still have fitness in mind. I don't know of anyone who does that I'm close with. Lol! But I will add your sister and hopefully I will make this happen. I know it is a lifestyle change as well. Thanks for the encouragement!!

The jars are a great idea, I might set some up myself as weightloss motivation. I am currently doing the 5:2 diet which I have to be very helpful with weightloss and sorting out my eating habits. So far I have lost 8kgs (about 17.6lbs) in 11 weeks.

Add me as a friend and we can motivate each other!!
