Hey everyone!

I am excited about this challenge because it is two months long, takes on two holidays (and my birthday!) and is a great way to stay focused to close out a big year.

USW - 330 (290.9 as of June 2, 2019)

SW - 243.6

CW - 243.6

GW - 230

MGW - 220

UGW- 190

So my mini-goal weight has always been 220 because I have been heavy for a long time and I am just not sure that I am going to be a lot less than that, so I wanted to give myself something achievable and a serious accomplishment to be proud of. But the closer I get to it the more I'm like... you know, I think I can make 190. So we will see!

Anyway my goal weight for this challenge is to come down another 13 pounds, to get to 230, which will be 100 pound weight loss! And that would be a really fantastic way to close out the year!

I wish you all the best for this challenge.

Just discovered this forum and I'm committing to joining in the 'fun'.  I'll wait until tomorrow to weigh and enter my stats.  Thanks everyone; I'm excited to challenge myself.  See you tomorrow!

I am interested in this challenge because the past year or so has really taken me off course.  I regained all the weight I lost and even added some.  I now weigh more than I ever have in my life.  I'm about 150lbs overweight, I suffer from sleep apnea (due to weight gain), I'm sore all the time because of all the weight I carry, and I'm often out of breath.

CW/SW - 303.3lbs

GW - 285lbs by 12/31/19

MGW - 220lbs by 07/16/20 (my 42nd birthday)

UGW- 150-155lbs (this is obviously a very long-term goal; it took me years to become overweight and slide into obesity.  I accept the fact that I may never see this number on the scale again, and I'll adjust my expectations if necessary to around 180lbs).

Perfect timing! This is the year that I will NOT start 2020 with a weight loss resolution looming over my head! I'm about 7 pounds away from my goal weight for the end of the year.

SW - 129

CW - 128.2

GW - 122 (1/1/2020)

UGW- 117 (Maybe after New Year's)

Is anyone thinking about how to stay on track during Thanksgiving yet?  I've pretty much got my menu planned. I'm more worried about portion control than I am about food selection. Oh, and alcohol consumption... (sigh)

Here I am, back again. New fitbit, new membership to the YMCA for water aerobics. In a few minutes, the dogs are taking me on a walk. It will hurt, it will make me sore and stiff for the rest of the day but I have to move.

I wish everyone great success this challenge and I look forward to keeping up the cheerleading squad in the corner.

@iMike  Hiiiii. I'm glad you've joined the conversation. This is a great place to get motivation and find friends who know what you're going through. It gives us a place to share our mini achievements, like going for a walk or small things that motivate you. I always gain great inner power when I can walk down the junk food aisle at the supermarket and NOT pick up a thing. There are times I can't be strong, but there are times I force myself to be strong, just to prove it to myself that I can be.

I hear you about the poor sleep, the aching you feel because of the weight carried around. Let's fix it.

Congratulations to all of us!  As promised yesterday, I weighed this morning and I'm happy to make a new commitment to my health.  I recently regained 25 lbs since a significant weight loss over the past 24 months.  I am determined to not purchase larger clothes!  I have previously cleared my closet of the clothes that were too big and enjoyed wearing smaller sizes.  I am no longer short of breath climbing a flight of stairs, my knees don't hurt all the time, but most of all I was feeling freedom from the shame of the extra weight.  It's just too painful to my soul!!  I do believe I have a sugar addiction so avoid sweets completely.  I attribute the recent weight gain to eating bread (and whatever fatty toppings I can find - butter, cheese, peanut butter).  I try to eat three healthy meals, nothing after dinner except hot milk when I go to bed.  So grateful for this support ... go team!!!

I'm having issues with my new fitbit. It's working fine ... when I remember to wear it!! My last one I just shoved in my sock and wore it on my ankle without the wristband. And, my metal wristband was large enough to wear on my ankle if I needed to. This new one is causing issues when I use the computer. It's irritating my wrist. I think I might have to pop off the band and wear it in my sock like I did before.

So, all of my activity done today didn't get tracked because I'd taken off the fitbit when I was working at the computer and forgot to put it back on.

I hope everyone is doing great so far, three days into the challenge. Let's keep it going! Oh, and drink your water.

Lilac - Are you wearing it on your non-dominant wrist? I use the waterproof band and never take it off except to charge it. I admit, it does annoy me on occasion (like when I'm doing leg lifts on the floor, I put my fist under my tailbone and its in the way), but I leave it on anyway. How often do you do water aerobics? I think I may try that on Wednesdays.

Looks like a few of us are here because we've gained previously lost weight (including me). On the bright side, if we did it before, we can do it again! I'm just not going to start the new year disappointed with my weight again - just not.

I'm already ready to talk about Thanksgiving dinner! I'm SO excited about the holidays!!! Maybe next time I post, I'll write my menu and see if anyone else wants to chime in with Thanksgiving plans.

Happy day!

Ok, so wearing the fitbit in my sock worked fine yesterday. I was able to work at the computer without the fitbit hitting and rubbing my wrist, and when I got up to stretch or deal with dogs or do laundry, I always had it with me.  I went to the pool this morning and now I'll put it in my sock for the rest of the day. My new swimsuits (swim dresses) came in yesterday and my daughter said they look more like cocktail dresses. haha.

I'm cutting out the coffee and switching to tea for a few days. I find it helps flush things and I don't take anything in my tea, so it's less stuff I have to track.

@Maria527  I wear it on the non dominant wrist, but the problem is where it rubs and hits the laptop when I'm working. It's hurting me. If I remove it I just forget to put it back on again when I get up, so the sock is my best solution at this point. I do water aerobics anywhere from 3-5 days per week. It's every morning at the Y and four evenings, but I usually only do mornings.

Oh, that reminds me. I have to manually log water aerobics, but Fitbit tells me I'm burning a certain amount of calories. Other sites tell me that for someone my weight and the length of time I'm doing the workout, I should be burning more. So, is Fitbit accurate? Is it calculating it based on my heartrate during the time?

Ok, enough blabbing from me. Off to go do some work.

Hey everyone,

Monday is my regular weigh-in day but I missed it so did it today instead. I am pretty pleased. I am getting kind of choked up, honestly. I remember the body pain. I remember the shame I felt just moving through space. And now I am 11 pounds away from having lost 100 pounds. I kinda can't believe it.

@Aluxes - welcome! I just found this maybe two challenges ago and the group is fantastic!

@_Lilac_ My Canadian sister - I totally get you on the anything under 200 thing. I put down 190 because I felt like, okay, that's down enough that I shouldn't fluctuate (too often) back across that invisible line. But I tell you I'll be crying at 199! Glad you have a new fitbit and I hope it all works out - seems like the sock trick is working?

One thing I need to start doing is cooking dinner before I get hungry.  I tend to snack while cooking dinner if I wait till I'm hungry.

Can anyone find this group through the app? I can only seem to get to it through the website.
