Oh man! I just got my fitbit today, and was happy to see that there were community forums--specifically to see if there were other women with PCOS on here!  So great!
Have many of the symptoms of PCOS, primarily hirsutism, irregular periods, acne/oiliness, irregular hormones, and ease of gaining but difficulty losing weight!
Have just gone of BC due to negative side effects and gained 25 lbs in just over a month.  Brutal!  Wanting to get back down to the lowest weight I've been (about 230 lbs) or lower, but am currently around 272 lbs.
Would so love to encourage other women with PCOS, but also feel free to add me too! 🙂

All the best, ladies!

Have a long way to go-- and just love that PCOS makes it even harder....

When people say "add me"-- what do you mean?  Isn't it just a matter of checking in, or are there other ways to connect?

PCOS mum here.

My first son was a suprise so I never had issues that I was aware of . I had also been on the pill for years so I never really knew of any lady cycle issues. It wasn't until after my sons birth when five months PP I got a severe infection from an IUD that we found out I had PCOS. My doctor told me there was no way we were getting pregnant again and that it was the gnarliest PCOS he had seen in a while. Two months later I was pregnant on my birthday with my second son who will be five months old soon.

During all of this time I gained fifty plus pounds on the IUD, wierd hair in crazy places and had moodiness like crazy. My PCOS was made worse by the IUD and has, as far as we known gone into hibernation (several scans while I was pregnant and no one could find the mad crazy gremlin style cysts!).

Down to almost my prepregnancy weight of 240 with boy #1!

Hello my fellow cysters! Please feel free to add me as well!  I've had PCOS for a while but was in denial. I realize now it is REAL and it's time to take action! Let's support each other on this journey!

I have it too.  Took 2.5 years and lots of money to have son #1, only to have him as a surprise.  Now we are thinking about having #2.  I need to drop at least 40 before I might start ovulating on my own.

I think it's great that we are talking about things like this!  I have PCOS and like one lady on this thread, I was in COMPLETE denial about it for a while.  I then realized that with medicine, I could feel fairly normal.  My husband and I are now trying to have a baby, and I realize that I have to lose weight to make this as successful as possible.  I know this might sound weird, but I think the thing that bums me out the most about PCOS is the facial hair.  It is so frustrating.  I feel like I spend so much of my time waxing and tweezing.  I'd love to join your group!  Thanks for posting!!

Hello all! My name is Micaela. I got the news yesterday that I have PCOS. It was a little scarry and sad. I have had a fitbit for over a year now, but I think I have been waiting to know what was wrong with me before I got really serious about losing weight. I tried so many things, but I could never lose anything more than 5 pounds. Now I have the medication and the tools to lose the weight and hopefully have a bright future to have a little baby one day.

PLEASE ADD BECAUSE I LOVE EXTRA MOTIVATION!

I have the pcos, too. I hate it. I have tried various ways of getting pregnant over the years. The only thing that worked was weightloss. Nothing, not even the various fertility treatments, has worked. At my lowest (183) I got pregnant, miscarried, got again, and miscarried again. Depression and what not helped me gain back up to 230 (my highest was 250). So now, years later, I have decided to get healthy and fit. Through strict diet and higher activity levels, it is slowly coming off. I am now 197.

So, yeah. That's my journey. I could use some friends on here but I have no idea how to add people, so add me, please?

Hi all, I was diagnoised with PCOS about 10 years ago. My husband was military and the docs just didnt know how to help me, other than to say LOSE WEIGHT! When asked how do I do that, the reply was watch what you eat. Well I never really did eat much, fast food was a treat about once every other week. After 6 years of infertility treatments, I finally had to stop the roller coaster with no child. My highest weight was 350lbs. For over 2 years, I have worked, and sweated my butt off to lose weight on my own. I had only lost 30lbs. I finally found a doctor who understood what I was going through, and now through a low-carb diet, I am now down to 257lbs in 7 months. I have noticed that once i side track, the lbs come back very quickly. I never had periods, unless they were planned with progesterone. I have now had 3 periods on my own since losing some weight, so I am hopeful. Husband got me my Fitbit for Christmas, and I am still trying to figure it out. If anyone has any tips. please let me know.

I was diagnosed with PCOS in my early 20s ( so about 20 years ago Smiley Surprised lol) I was given no info, except that I wouldn't conceive naturally, which I did, twice. My main problems were lack of my monthly cycle, and excess hair ( especially on my face Smiley Sad), and the weight gain, especially around my tummy. In 2007 I went to my doctor ( I'm in the UK), and asked for help, again. Although he didn't give me help as such with regards to the PCOS, he did refer me to Weight Management, and it turned my life around. They were the ones that said that ladies with PCOS should low carb, as they cannot metabolise carbs effeciently enough. I was 298 lbs then, and currently I'm 188lbs. Its not just been cutting out the carbs, I've also found I quite like exercise, especially walking and I love the gym ( absolutely hated PE and sports at school lol).

Please feel free to add me  xxx

I haven't officially been diagnosed just yet with PCOS but my endo thinks I have it based on symptoms, along with hypothyroid and ins resistance. I am 46 and have been on BC pills most of my adult life. Never married so never tried to have kids so it went undiagnosed. Now with very irreg periods, getting very very heavy since being off BC my dr thinks it is PCOS. Reading symptoms is sure makes sense. So now between that and thyroid it is hard to lose and I have been gaining and gaining. But now it is time to get teh weight off before I go from prediabetic to diabetic! I don't want that. So far down 6 pounds. I just hope the weight keeps coming off. I am glad to have a group here to talk to and get advice from as I am new to all this (well not needing to lose weight!)

I was diagnosed almost 20 years ago.  Hang in their ladies who are trying to conceive...miracles happen....mine just turned 4!!  But, unfortunately, with PCOS comes weightloss issues....seems impossible.  But, I will not give up!!  I am new to fitbit, so please the more friends the better!!
