Slimming World and Fitbit

Hi

I am new to the Fitbit but not to Slimming World. Been doing that for just over a year and lost almost 2 stone. A few members of my group have been using the Fitbit and seem to be doing ok so thought I would treat myself to one.

I'm a rubbish sleeper as well so looking forward to using the sleep tool.

How does everyone get on with it.

Thank you

For me the Sleep tool is interesting but does not really change much for me.  I wake up and if it says I slept well I knew that.  If it says I did not sleep well I kinda figured that out as well.  But the stats are interesting to look at.

I have been going to Slimming World for what seems like forever and have been struggling but now myself and members of my SW group have these little babies so we are going to Charge/Surge forward into a healthy 2016

I work nights every week so my sleep pattern is rubbish and to be honest I am scared to actually track my sleep, does that sound stupid.

Good luck with your journey.

Not at all.

It might actually help you a bit.

I'm going to a Slimming World Ball tonight so plan on dancing all night and earning laods of Body Magic at the same time 🙂

It's good to know other SW members are using the fitbit - I am restarting Slimming World as of last week, and the fitbit (along with a new food diary that I made per my own preferences) has been super motivating.

It also makes you realise that you might be more active than you thought. Before this, I was using my iPhone, and of course did not carry this around all the time, so was missing lots of information, and thinking I was doing a lot less than I was. I keep the fitbit on all the time, and it's much more reassuring and motivating (I was more active indoors than I had realised).

I regularly check how many steps I have done, and how many calories my last dash around the office or house or outside burnt. Last night it told me I needed to do several more flights of stairs to get the next award, so I got out of bed and did a few more (not enough to get the award, but certainly triggered me to do more than I had already!).

Also, I think it helps to learn more about things like heart rate and resting metabolic rate, which I hadn't really paid much attention to before.

The sleep feature is interesting (especially if you keep a food diary) because you can see which foods might be affecting your sleep for better or worse, or whether you do indeed sleep better when you've been more active, etc.

Is there a SW group in the fitbit community? If so, I would love to join.
