Squats vs. steps..

Any idea how much doing squats for x amount of time compared to the same time walking would be? (I'm stuck at my desk, and am switching between walking on the spot and squatting)

Body weight squats?

calisthenics - vigorous effort. This is in Fitbit database too, the one to use.

8 x your resting calorie burn.

So in your Log for Activity, look at your non-moving calorie burn in the graph for 5 min chunk of time.

That figure / 5 is per minute resting calorie burn (actually lower than resting because that is BMR or sleeping calorie burn Fitbit uses for all non-moving time.).

So logging the time correctly will be the kicker. Really doing 5 min continous with minimal rest, probably max 30-60 sec once in 5 min?

Probably easier to just say every 30 min you'll get up and do 1 min of squats. End of day then is 2 x hrs at work = minutes done to manually log.

As to what does that equal in walking - a little less than 5 mph flat surface.
