Hi All!
This is the Thanksgiving to New Years Eve Challenge... Welcome !!
We'll begin on Thanksgiving, November 26th and finish on New Years Eve, December 31st. This gives us 5 weeks for this challenge so set your goals accordingly & don't worry if you don't hit them, it's not all about the numbers, it's about how you feel about your own health & being part of a fun, supportive group.
To join the challenge all you need to do is post your weight stats & check in as often as you like with an update or just to share a story from your week. This group has proven to be so supportive the last 2 challenges I've been a part of so I hope you find it just as great to be a part of as well.
So, enjoy being part of the group & have fun working towards your goals!
A little rundown of terminology for anyone who is new (thanks @awood08 for this list from the last challenge).

Morning all, checking in before I head off for a first aider training day, should be interesting.
I had quite an active weekend & went for a slightly longer run last night, trying to steadily increase my distance. Didn't really indulge food wise over the weekend, being in the UK I didn't have thanksgiving but I have my work Christmas party to look forward to next week so might enjoy a drink or 2 as well as some yummy food then.
I was surprised & mega pleased to see a drop of 3lbs when I hopped on the scales this morning, I have been exercising a bit more than normal (longer runs) & watching my calories in vs. out closely, really find sticking to my calorie count for the day (allowing for exercise) helps me to maintain a steady weight loss.
On a random side note I had some festive cinnamon & vanilla popcorn as part of my lunch the other day, was so yummy, already getting excited for Christmas lol! Hope you all have a great day!

@saraj91 I really liked this most recent post because you are showing how to put it all in place INCLUDING how to enjoy the treats of the season as well! It was a kind of "treat" just to read about the cinnamon, vanilla popcorn and to be reminded of the delights of holiday treats (that I try not to see), and to be reminded that we don't have to give up EVERYTHING to get healthy. We just have to put it all in BALANCE. Sometimes I start to drift toward the "poor me" end of the emotional spectrum while on this health journey, instead of remembering to savor life, as dianenyc advises and as you are demonstrating here.
I want to remember that it's a privilege to be able to walk and run and dance and play, to eat yummy, healthy food and even some not so healthy ones. It's not about "giving up" stuff. It's about having MORE!
Thanks, saraj91, for the reminder!

I never thought of cinnamon vanilla popcorn, I'l have to give that a shot. I LOVE vanilla.
@JacquelineP I've found a new favorite "treat" that's very healthy and satisfying when I have a sweet tooth craving! Yoplait Greek Whips, my favorite is the Vanilla Cupcake but they have tons of other flavors. 100 calories, 9 grams of protein, 0 fat! Light & airy like other whipped yogurts and it honestly does not have the tangy flavor you usually get out of greek yogurt. I've already went through 8 in the past 4 days! lol

I would love to join. I didn't technically meet my goal on the last challenge, BUT, it was Thanksgiving AND we were on a cruise for a whole week, AND I didn't gain anything. And my clothes fit better, jeans that were creating a major muffin top back in Oct fit good, almost loose today. So I will take that as a win! Anyone who has been on a cruise knows just how tempting and delectable the food can be! And I took the stairs alot, even though several times I thought I was going to pass out halfway up. 🙂
CSW- 203 estimated (I just ordered the Aria scale)

Im going to join this challenge. I began the Halloween to Thanksgiving challenge and just a few days into it, my back went out. Next was phys therapy, massage therapy, and chiro appts. I dont have a history of back problems so this was all new to me. Even with out working out, I was able to lose 5.5 lbs in the challenge!!! Im feeling 100 % again but have been leery about working out so I havent yet. I enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner and then got back on track. Which brings me to now.
My goal is to get back to walking, biking and some free weights and to lose 5 lbs by the end of the year.

@JacquelineP exactly, like you say it's about being able to have more of the right stuff & finding a healthy balance between the good & maybe not so good stuff.
Also part of the fun in the health & fitness journey can be found through food, finding tasty healthy recipes & new meals to try is great!
Thank you for your kind words! Hope you're having a good week.
