I started ahead of time for my daughters wedding and I did it ! Looked really nice with the bride, my daughter - glad I did it - just needed encouragement from my friends and wore my Fitbit every day and watched every time I put something in my mouth and logged it. Made sure I burned 2,500 calories per day and I am now 50 pounds thinner - started on 1/1/13. Wedding was September 17, 2013. If I can do it - anyone can !

So I need to lose 37 lbs, .11 lb per day. I can do it, right? 187 to 150.
I really need encouragement.

That'll be easier than you think.
But to keep losing the whole time, keep it reasonable weight loss.
Set your goal to 1 lb weekly until you have 10 lbs to go, and then 0.5 lbs weekly.
So 27 weeks, and then 20 weeks. 47 weeks if really linear weight loss - which sadly it's not. But you'll still hit your goal.
Besides, you don't plan on wearing the scale on your back with current weight showing, and sign showing what goal weight is, right?
Or telling everyone how you missed goal weight?
Everyone will see inches lost no matter the weight, so don't be too tied to the scale, or you'll stress yourself out, and that is also bad for weight loss.
Meet your daily eating goals - more on active days, less on inactive days.
Just meet your goals.
Log food accurately to know if you are - which means weigh all food that goes in your mouth, measure only liquids. Calories is per weight, hence the reason to weigh.

As long as your reason to get fit and do what is necessary is greater then than the pain of forgoing processed high fat and high sugar foods you will reach your goal.

Well, I'm down about 3 pounds. I consider it a slow but steady start. Whenever I focused on losing weight before, I could always count on that first week 5 lb water loss. However, I didnt see that extreme first week loss this time.
Im not going to let that discourage me. I'm planning meals now, saving money at lunch by packing and am not drinking so much alcohol. So not am I only losing the weight, I am cleaning up my act.
Whew....long way to go.

Keep it up. You're giving yourself plenty of time so focus on eating well, exercising, drinking water and don't forget about your rest day!

I started in November of 2012 watching what I ate and using the FitBit One to track my activity and I lost 180 lbs in a year. I've been maintaining at 118 lbs since I met my goal. If I can do it, anyone can.
