Weight Goal Timeline

Hello all, I want to find out how long it will take to meet my weight goal.  For instance, I have placed my weight goal in the fit bit computer app.  It shows my daily weights and there is another line that shows when I should be reaching my goal, however, I cannot see where the line for the predicted weight goal date ends.  Help anyone?  Thanks.

I believe when you setup your goal, you chose when you want to hit your goal. 

Is their a way to see this date now? I'm not sure so I'll move your post to the Manage Weight Discussion Board.

I am not sure that feature exists on the Fitbit app. If it does, I couldn't it.

Just math it out so you understand how it works.

 

You selected a weight loss plan of so much weekly. 1/2, 1, 1.5, 2 lbs weekly?

 

You have an amount you want to lose.

 

To lose / weekly loss = number of weeks.

 

It really is that simple on paper. Several weight trend apps will give that too also - search your play store for that.

 

And it really is that unrealistic - time based goals for weight loss is fraught with issues:

Weight loss is not linear. You will not lose the same amount weekly.

You should purposely try to slow your rate of loss the closer to healthy weight you are - or the body will do it for you with worse results.

Stress from failure to progress in your eyes can in fact cause water weight gain - along with many other reasons for it, stressing body out.

 

Probably a reason why the end date isn't shown, if they were that smart - it's useless to have really, and only prone to stressing people out.

@tmaelo , if you already created a food plan, go to the Fitbit app and tap on the green apple (food tile on the dashboard)

You'll see the list of food that you  have placed and saved. 
On the upper right corner, you'll see 3 dots. 

Tap on them and select Edit Food Plan. 

Tap again on food plan and there you'll see the summary of it. (How many cal should you reduce from your food and the expected time to reach the goal.

 

@Zero2Hero.Fit , the Fitbit app offers a food plan, that helps you with your weight goal. You can add if you want to gain/lose weight and when setting it up, you can choose the intensity of it. You can put, e.g.  that you want to loose 1 lbs a week or if you want to loose 15 lbs a week. According to this the app will tell you how many calories should be taken of your meals.(e.g -250 or -1k a day)
