Weight Loss Advice from Experts

I can tell you from my own personal experience, the advice in this article is solid click here to read.

While the numbers may not be absolutely accurate, the idea that weight loss/management is 80% diet, 20% exercise is true nonetheless. You have to make better food choices and not rely on exercise as a means to achieve your goals. You also need to make multiple changes in your life, but not necessarily all at once.

The one piece of advice that I reluctantly agree with is to weigh yourself only once per week and at a time of your choosing. Although I've been successful losing weight, I've tortured myself along the way needlessly by weighing in almost every day. I've had enormous swings as a result, some as much as seven pounds. No need to do that to ourselves. If I'd adhered to my one official weekly weigh-in (Saturday morning, post workout), I would never have had to deal with the fluctuations.

Again, this article is just solid, simple advice.

Excellent article. You can read tons of stuff about how to lose weight/maintain weight/stay healthy, etc. but it always comes back to the 5 basic things mentioned in this article.

yep- weight loss starts in the kitchen and is fine tuned with activity. no one can outrun a poor diet. The only thing I can mildly disagree with is weighing in. I don't do it everyday now, but when I was losing I did. It helped me to know the intake of salt and water and to plan ahead. The thing is though, you can't look at it as your weight. The average of the days is really what you are looking at to see if loss has occurred. my opinion of course.
