Hi!
I'm trying to lose 75 pounds, hopefully at a rate of 1.5 pounds per week. I started on my journey a week and a half ago and I'm currently down 3.6 pounds. I'm looking forward to a healthier lifestyle and if you want friends for extra motivation feel free to add me. 🙂

Hi, I wish I could help you but unfortunately I have no idea how to add friends.

Hi Maddison. I completely relate to what you're going through. I think most of us feel your frustration and pain. I'm going through something similar with my steps per day. This past Friday, I started a on-week vacation and it seems I'm also taking a vacation from my 10k steps per day.
It isn't uncommon for people to have setbacks. This won't be my first, I know that. Something I always say to myself, "it doesn't matter if I keep falling, it matters that I keep trying. Someday it will stick."
I'll make you a deal: tomorrow we start again. Doesn't matter what's happened til now, tomorrow is a clean slate towards our goals. 🙂

Hi Lisa,
I have about the same goal. Great work with losing 3.6 pounds already!
Are you eating all the calories fitbit recommends?
I am always under. I don't know if that is such a good thing.

hey everybody.
im 31 years old. 6'3 285 lbs and im trying to lose 60-70 lbs. i have my first baby coming in 3 months and i want to be around for her for a long time.
ive done it before. i lost 100 lbs from march 2010 to may 2012, but once i got into a relationship and got married i lost focus and gained 45 lbs from june 2012 til now.
now that baby girl is on the way i want to be a healthy dad. im thinking 215-225 range would be perfect for my height.
good luck to you all on your goals!

Hi Lisa,
Yeah....I'm a bit frustrated today. I've been working so hard (exercising 65 to 120 minutes a day), eating healthy, and staying under my calories but still eating a lot....and I did not lose anything this week. It is that time of the month, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
I am also drinking a LOT of water (100-150oz)....and have been wondering if that is too much, but I am thirsty. I have a Bubba, which is 52oz...super easy to drink a few of those a day.
I guess I just want to find out if I need to eat more to stay within the zone instead of under. While the fitbit is super motivating, I just keep getting confused on the calorie intake/output & deficit.
Any thoughts...this is to anyone?
Thanks,
Tara

I like many of the options of fitbit, but overall I am finding it a bit not user friendly. Is any one else having problems with the steps synicing with your compter? This morning I recieved a weekly summary for the first time comparing my stats with my friends' stats. Overall it is good for competition, however, it could be depressing to others who didn't rank first...just my opinion. Off and on over the past several years I have used My Fitness Pal and their app is easier to communicate with friends. Again just my opinion...your thoughts?

Hello everyone.
What a great bunch of peeps here!
I feel like I have finally found the right group on a community thread! I think I must have been on this merry-go-round for the past gazillion years. Always thinking that this time it will be the time I commit - and then I get really in to it, lose about 20-30 of the 100ish that I'm needing to lose and then get derailed. I am really working on not being an all or nothing kind of person. Those of us with perfectionist issues will understand. I remember the last time I was really on track - down 30ish pounds and a good friend of mine said to me as I was staring at a Rocky Road bar..."You know you've more than earned it" and that was that. Oh then I earned pizza and coke and appetizers and not going for long walks etc etc until I no longer had any sense of healthy patterns I developed. It seems so ridiculous for me to say that one Rocky Road bar got me back to where I'm at today, but in away I suppose it did. I hadn't figured out how to make it work.
I've read everyone's posts in this thread and can really relate to so many. I would love to have some friends added who I can encourage and motivate, challenge and celebrate because that's what I'm looking for. It would be nice to participate in some friendly challenges too.
So please add me if it sounds like we are on the same path.
Cheers,
Hayley

Thanks Annegirl!
I will keep all of that in mind. I still went for my walk today and am trying to eat right.
What do you do to get your steps in?
Are you in the Seattle area?
Talk to you soon.
