Weight Loss - I need Calorie help

ANSWERED

Hi,

I am new to the discussion boards, so please forgive me if this topic has been covered before.

I am working on losing weight. So far I hit my water in take and exercise goals, but the food side of things has left me bamboozled. Especially around how to count calorie intake etc etc.

Can anybody point me in the right direction or recommend any resources I can read to learn this side of weight loss?

I'm also looking at Fitstar premium. Anybody using it, and does it help with your weight loss?

Hi, @beedub, last year a Fitbit member wrote a really excellent manual on how to use Fitbit food logging and Fitbit weight loss plan, which you might find very helpful.  Here it is, with links to the other sections:

The key to getting a handle on calories in is to start tracking food intake. Without that, it'll always be a guess if you're consuming the right amount calories to meet your weight goal.

I put off logging food because I didn't want to be obsessed over every calorie. But I'm glad I started, because it's taught me that the amount of food I THINK I'm eating is quite different from what I'm actually taking in. Best of luck.

Thanks Julia_G and WavyDavy for your responses. I will definitely check out those resources and start tracking.

I guess the hardest thing I find is to work out exactly how many calories are in what I cook. I guess I am going to have to weigh each ingredient and have some sort of chart that tells me the calories by weight.
