Well it's been a short while since I've posted here, but wanted to update: I started dieting/exercising in ernest on March 10. I got my Charge HR on March 27th, then replaced it with a Blaze about a month later. Results are 39 pounds of weight loss (267.4 to 228.4) at a rate of 1.6 pounds per week, with my goal weight (210) a mere 18.4 pounds away!
I'm following my Fitbit app's reccomendations to the letter - especially how much to eat. The only weakness in the Blaze is inaccuracy with heart rate while exercising, although it is very accurate while resting.
Following the program has:
The device has some quirks, but it is a great tool for fitness and weight loss.

This is great, kudos to you! What kind of exercising have you been doing? Do you intend to keep the same deficit for the remaining 18 pounds? Asking as it is commonly advised to use a smaller deficit as you get closer to your target weight.

@Dominique, Thanks for your Kudos!
My exercise of choice is walking. I'm walking an average of 18 miles a week (6 outings, usually 3 miles each) and my speed is slightly faster than 3mph (a little over 19 minutes per mile according to the tracker). I'm pretty much the slowest walker on the paths, but that's ok - my goal is a heart rate number, not speed. ![]()
Yes, I'm going to try to maintain 1.5 lbs weight loss per week all the way to goal. However, if the weight loss rate slows down I won't be disappointed.

Adding my congrats here as well. An excellent example of slow and steady wins the race. Best of luck on those last few pounds.

awesome. Congrats to you! I was happy to see that you acknowledge that a slow down may occur and you won't be discouraged. You may want to think about increasing calories out or decreasing calories in to avoid a slow down that becomes a problem. Now is also the time to think about your maintenance plan. Sometime losing is easier than keeping off. You are doing so well- you should be very proud of your accomplishments and thanks so much for the update.
