Hello fitbit community! I am a young woman and I have recently set a goal to lose around 230 pounds of excess weight. I am struggling because right now I have only managed to lose about one pound net in the last month or two. I'm no longer gaining, thank the lord, due to changes in my meds but I'm still not losing. Does anyone have some advice on how to keep motivated, stick to goals, and how to make sure I'm actually following fitbit's advice and not just fooling myself?
I'd also love to find some buddies to keep me accountable and compete with in the weekly competetions and such. Let me know if you have any ideas or are interested in being my accountability buddy.
Thanks,
Bri.

Hi @bribri234
You've got this!!!
I find it better to focus on smaller goals. Once you reach one of the smaller goals, celebrate! Reaching those smaller goals will add up to huge changes over time 😊 Consistency and patience are the key to success.
I would love to be an accountability buddy.

I feel you @bribri234. I'm also on diet and so far I've only lost 1 pound and while it's a little discouraging sometimes, my motivation is to wear clothes that I've not used in a while. I have many beautiful dresses that I want to wear in summer, and that's my biggest motivation (besides being healthy 😅).
You already made the biggest step, starting new habits and that something to celebrate. As my friend @cathm mentioned, try to celebrate those little goals. I'm sure in no time you'll see this thread and remember how you were feeling versus how great you'll feel by then after accomplishing your goal!
Keep it up and if you need a buddy for challenges, count on me! 😎

I think this group and the Nov 1 -Dec 31 group and maybe some in the "Changes in diet that worked " group should get together and restart the weekly weigh in. I'm in a little group on freeforms.net that started out as a "weight loss " group but no one ever seemed to lose, so we changed the name to the weight management group. But since we posted our weight every Friday we all wanted a good number to post and it helped us to not gain. That is important too. We were not really competitive with each other. We all were very happy for anyone to have any success. We laughed about "starving Thursdays". We finally learned how to lose weight though. Best wishes

The Maryjane weight loss instructions of the last entry is an extremely long ad and the cost is $37.

I lost around 30 pounds in 6 months @bribri234, this was almost two years ago.
I definitely focused on smaller goals, and by reaching them a felt motivated, because I knew I was doing things right and was able to keep a steady stride. Another thing that helped me a lot was to count my calories eaten and burned everyday, I was very strict with this, particularly with calorie consumption. 😁🤓
