What is this weight graph telling me?

Hello all,

Quick background: My brother gave me a flex as a Christmas present last December (2014). At first I thought it was kinda gimmicky, basically a hi-tech pedometer, which I did not think I needed. I was riding my bike, or walking, almost daily. But not until I learned that we received insurance discounts and points (for gifts) for healthy activities, did I take walking goals serious. Initially my fitbit goal was 10K steps per day, but a short time later I bumped it to 15K. Initially I did this to see how far over 10K I was (since when your goal is met on the flex there are no more lights), but also because the Vitality program gives points for 5K, 10K, and 15K steps per day. Additionally, there are points for the number of workouts. Every 10 workouts we get a points bump, and there are milestones, i.e. 50, 100, 150, etc., which are worth even more points. It really is quite motivating.

I made some small changes to my diet, but one big change - I cut out beer. I might have one lite beer a month, just to satisfy a craving, sometimes, usually after mowing the lawn.

I weigh myself (manually, no Aria), and log, my weight, everyday. Today I clicked the "All" box on the weight graph and saw something interesting (see picture below). A pretty rapid weight loss, up front, when I first got my fitbit in December, but starting around February, the weight loss was not as rapid. It still seems quicker than BF (before fitbit), but loosing weight does not seem as fast.

I'm wondering, is this normal? I'm thinking the more weight I loose, the less I have to loose, so weight lose is slower (for the same activity level) My target weight is currently 160 pounds, but I might go a little lower. I think I was 150 when I got married 15 years ago.

Anyway, I'm curious about the graph and what it means.

Thanks for reading and keep on steppin',

Sincerely, Eric

--- Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do.
Flex (Christmas 2014), ChargeHR (Christmas 2015). Wife is using the Flex now! Nope, that Flex has died. Alta ordered 12/15/16 as Flex replacement. So far, she likes it. Nope, alta battery only lasts 2 days, started at 7. Support contacted 12/7/17. Hope warranty covers it.

Really, you can't tell what it "means"?

You started at about 190 and are now at about 160, and have lost 28.

If you use about 1,000 calories more per day than your base Metabolic Rate plus Exercise,

then you will (over time) lose about 2 lb./week, since it takes about 3,500 cal. to lose a lb.

You will lose the same for the same calorie deficit, but you do get more efficient at a certain

exercise the more you do it, so you may lose less do to that, and and also less fat to lose.

Small changes can make huge differences. Smiley Happy Heart

Always ate something in the evening which leads to eating more and sometimes more,.. now eating anything my body is craving during the day (not until feeling stuffed).. and until truly satisfied at dinner (eating mostly the good foods).. then brushing teeth about a hour later..

When eating something in the evening, it's been always a chocolat waffle, or cookies.. when stopped doing that, not needing to have all that extra in the evening though (not being hungry, body not wanting to actually have more), must be out of habit.. when feeling really hungry in the morning, trying to have healthier food instead.

Sometimes eat a piece of chocolat, or allow one treat, to keep possible binging at bay when the thought to have some isn't going away until having a bit from.. Smiley Embarassed
