Did you mean:

calorie in vs calorie out

Here's an example of a problem I am having.  According to my fitbit device I burned 3000 calories one day.  The next morning I checked the Dashboard from the day before and it showed only 2600 calories burned.  Have I something set up wrong?  Thanks.

@Jim7319  Your FitBit gets to know you and how your burn calories. Click to read more.

So there's no way to know exactly what I burned during the day?

I'm sure fitbit is a good tool for most people but what I thought I was getting was a somewhat accurate account of calories burned per day.

Thanks for your reply.

@Jim7319  Your Flex will get to know you more, the longer you wear it. It will get used to your activity level and what you're eating, if you log it.

Give it a chance and see what you think.
