Okay, don't all hate me for that statement, please!
I started with 16 kilos to lose, to get to my maximum weight in the healthy zone. Yep I'd become obese. Dillusional about it too.
Anyay fitbit told me just work in the calories, plus add 10,000 steps a day, maybe added exercise then presto in 3 months those kilos would be gone.
I thought that sounded great, but doubted my strength to stick at the 1200 calories a day to achieve. Strength kicked in pretty quick and the scales have gone down, down, down. Watching the weight going down makes me stronger all the time.
I've heard that quick weight loss is actually better as it inspires you to continue on. The old half a kilo loss just didn't cut it.
It's so easy I can't believe it.
Best thing is the calorie tracker, I plan my menu the night before and can swap things for healthier alternatives. It's all about choice folks. And motivation.
Wish me all the best folks as I journey towards the new me.

10,000 steps is easy if you ditch the office chair. It's the performance of those 10,000 steps that counts and what you consume through the day that counts. Swap to Calories Burned mode instead of Steps is my advise.
I can burn 10,000 steps in 99 minutes during the work week. Or burn 10,000 steps if I'm not laid back on the weekend and do the elliptical trainer for 120 minutes watching a movie as long as I have Intra-Workout formula and Pre-Workout formula consumed prior to workout.
The Performance as I suggested is what counts. Doing HIIT cardio in the am and pm. Finding the right workout program that you can do for HIIT as well. And what's consumed correctly and avoiding any mistakes like Popcorn.

Congrats on your progress!! Keep at it! How long have you been using Fitbit?
Also, don't get discouraged if your progress slows down a bit. Remember that the normal rate of weight loss is between 1 and 2 lbs a week so if you are losing more than that now, expect it to slow down a little.

I found 10,000 steps too easy, and I do work in an office. If I do not incorporate any fitness into my day, I only get 4500 steps. When I add walking and other things, I easily get 10,000. I set my goal for 12,000 instead.

Thanks!
I'm a newbie, only been on the fitbit, or should I say, the fitbits only been on me, for a week. I've lost 3kgs in one week! Now I know everyone things that's rediculous, way too much. But I'd like to say, over the weekend I took my fitbit off and ate normally. I had massive parties and functions to attend and I knew there was no way I'd be able to stick to the calorie control dash and I'd feel like crap for it. Solution? Off it went.
Then Monday, back on it went.
3kgs in one week, yippeeeee! Thats 16% of the total weight I want to lose gone, finito.
The thing is, I've always got to that weekend splurge, or daily splurge and was an all or nothing kind of gal. That was my downfall.
Now I've found the solution.

Well 10,000 steps was a wakeup call for me. I wasn't achieving it. And it looks like a lot don't when I read these messages over the board. I'm happy that as a newbie I'm doing the 10,000 steps. It's making a difference and I feel better already. I'm sure I'll step it up (pardon the pun!) soon but I'm rapt I'm doing those 10,000.
You sound like a pro at this!
Great tips.
For me it bamboozled the brain! I'm just taking it easy for now to get the hang of it. 3kgs this week is awesome to lose. I'm very happy.

Thanks Strider, yes I'm aware it will slow down as the kilos fall off. But for now I'm going for it! It is very inspiring to see such a difference in only a week.

Just so you have proper expectations.
Everyone going in to a diet loses water weight the first week or two, so much bigger losses that are not fat.
And guess what comes right back on when you stop the diet down the road?
Those are glucose stores in your muscles with attached water, part of Lean Body Mass, and part of your metabolism.
So both lower when you go in to a diet.
But at least when you come out they both go up again too.
Just don't freak out over those water weight fluctuations, because 1 good carb day can increase those again.
Just advice for the newbie that may be unaware - if anyone was saying that was unsafe or too much - then they aren't aware of what happens in a diet.
Keep that up though - and you can kiss muscle mass goodbye which you won't get back with your routine. Talk about lowering your metabolism and negatively impacting your future success.
So just be careful and realistic.
