Hi!
I am trying to stay in my groove but I have lost it! The winter is harsh; the food is good; the exercise boring!
does anyone have any suggestions on how to stay motivated in the depths of winter in NE or anywhere?

You have to keep yourself accountable to your buddies! It does help - buddy systems! Keeps your motivation right up there!

What sort of activites do you enjoy? I have been doing zumba at home and Joined the ymca the winter in northen ny is harsh... We got 34 inches of snow in the last three days 😞 need less to say I will not be jogging out side for awhile.
Also as I am doing simple things I will add activity "dance cleaning" < not to be done in public.
I change it up from jump roping and do strenghing to keep up.
I also posted a chart with my goal weight and current weight as a remeber maybe I should skip on the pumpkin pie during the hoildays.

We usually don't have harsh winter weather but the last few days have been brutal. There are tons of things online - exercise videos, routines, etc - that you can do at home. I gave Zumba a whirl yesterday (I am so not coordinated) but like doing Yoga by watching online videos (granted not a big calorie burn but different than what I usually do).
My best advice is to have a backup plan of what to do if you can't get to the gym or get outside.
Good luck!

Jabrat, I'm in the same boat! Live in SD and the winter has been very hard on my diet and exercise routine. All I want to do is warm up next to my wood stove! I just got my fitbit hoping it would help me get going. I like my treadmill but need a goal or event for motivation.

I guess my post should have been addressed to mjh45 Learning my way around the fitbit community!

Yes when you work out it is a scientific fact that uptempo music with a bpm of 120 or higher helps give you the extra edge you need to enjoy your workout and push through when you feel like giving up.

Here in the northern midwest the winter has been awfull so I found another person to work out with at planet fitness and that turned into 5 people. We got a personal trainer to set up a 5 day a week program for us and we meet after work. Being accountable to other people is very motivating. Good luck
