weight loss goal- active minutes or # of steps

Which is better for weight loss? Setting a goal for a certain amount of active minutes per day or number of steps per day?

For weight loss it always comes down to caloriesc and burning more than you eat.   So, its a question of which - active minutes or #steps -- translates most accurately into the real number of calories you burned.  Unfortunately, its impossible to say which is best..... it varies from person to person.
