weight loss

I want to loose weight and find myself loosing motivation. I am currently 200lbs and 24yrs old. My goal is to lose 40lbs. I want to look and feel better. I lost 14lbs with diet a couple months back and lost the drive. I am just looking for support and motivators or others with similar goals as me.

I've been following a group on facebook called IIFYM.  It's all about calories & macronutrients (fat, carbs, protein) to help with weight loss.  I don't have the drive to follow the macros set for me (weighing food etc.) but I am tracking calories on my Fitbit app and doing a lot of walking & some light weights.  There's a lot of great motivation & positive people on IIFYM of all different shapes & sizes.  I'm 5'4", 45 years old & hit my 8 months pregnant weight of 169 lbs in a 6 month time period.  I was disgusted that I had let myself get to that point.  I'm down to 160 lbs in 8 weeks.  For the first time in my life, I'm losing weight slow & steady & remaining patient yet motivated.   My first goal is 154 (15 lb weight loss)  My next goal will be to get under 150lbs, somewhere between 145-150lbs.  I'm older and don't really have a desire to be the skinny thing I was in my youth.  I just want to be comfortable in my own skin again & be healthy.

Also, I'm not restricting any foods, just the amount of them, that I eat.

I would start tracking the food you eat and hopefully, the motivation will come from there.  I was shocked at the amount of calories I was consuming on a daily basis.  I was eating about 2100-2300 calories on average.  Now, I'm eating about 1700 on average & losing slow but steady.  Also, keep in mind weight loss is 80% of what you eat & about 20% physical activity.  Best of luck to you !  I hope this post can help you find your motivation again 😉

Don't give up try and think about how you will feel when you make it to your goal weight! Sounds crazy but for me whenever I lost track or just didn't want to try anymore I actually used Pinterest to pin new workouts meal plans and motivation it just seemed to keep me motivated. I would also make new playlists for the gym with music I loved or even buy new workout clothes any little thing to get me to gym helped a lot!!

Take it in small steps - Focus more on "I want to lose 1lb per week" and see how you get on. Much less daunting and you will get lots of little wins on the journey to the biggest win!
