Period Editing Not Saving in Female Health

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi

I've recently had a longer than usual period, today being about 16 days in.  I was able to log 11 days but can't log any more.  I can change the period to show I've had one, and save it while the female health tile is open, but the moment I come away from it, when I go back to it, it's disappeared.  FitBit reckons android can log a period for up to 60 days so why can't I log anything more than 11?

Welcome on board @SunsetRunner, it's nice to see you here! Hmmm... this is very strange my friend. Have you tried today? Is still the app deleting your periods when you try entering them? If so, I'd recommend trying the following:

  • Make sure that your Fitbit app is up-to-date
  • Log out of your Fitbit app
  • Force quit the app
  • Turn off the Bluetooth
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes
  • Turn on the Bluetooth
  • Log back into your Fitbit app

Have you turned off Predictions in Settings?

Give this a go and let me know if the issue persists.

Hi MarreFitBit

Thank you for responding. Unfortunately, this has not resolved the issue
🙁 Not sure what to do next?

Thanks for getting back @SunsetRunner! If a period doesn’t meet the following requirements, you may receive an error and be unable to log the period:

  • You can only add or edit current or past periods and details.
  • A period must be at least 1 day.
  • You can log a period of up to 60 days (on Windows 10 devices, the maximum is 10 days). If your period is longer, consider logging flow intensity details.
  • A cycle must be at least 11 days, and there must be a gap of at least 1 day between logged periods. If you experience a gap in bleeding during your period, it’s still 1 period.

Note that If you attempt to log a period in the future or a period with less than a one-day gap between periods, the pencil icon is unavailable. If you don’t see the pencil icon, make sure the period you’re attempting to log or edit meets all of the requirements.

You can edit the average cycle length and period length you provided during setup; however, these settings only affect your initial predictions.

Keep the following in mind:

  • Change your average period length to adjust the length of your initial period predictions. For example, if you change your average period length from 5 days to 8 days, your predictions adjust to reflect this change.
  • Edit your average cycle length to adjust the length of your entire cycle. If fertility predictions are on, the predictions for your fertile window and ovulation day adjust based on the length of your cycle. For more information, see our blog post Ovulation, Fertility, and Pregnancy: What It Really Takes To Make a Baby

To change your setup values for average cycle or period length:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the female health tile.
  2. Tap the gear icon.
  3. Tap Period Length or Cycle Length and adjust the number.
  4. Confirm your changes.

I'll be around, keep me in the loop!

Hi there

I wish this was helping but it isn't and my log meets all the
requirements. Strangely, if I press the pencil icon today, as if trying to
change it again, the period length is as I saved it at the longer time, but
it doesn't keep those days highlighted in pink when I actually press save.
It's very odd!

Hi @SunsetRunner, nice to have you here! Smiley Happy

You've done an excellent work, thanks for trying all those steps. I tried to do the same thing to see if this is letting edit my period. And it was possible for me, but I wanted to show you my Fitbit App:

FH long period.PNG

As you can see my period started on 12 finish on the 28. My predictions are still showing in the same way, since for more accurate predictions we need to keep tracking details about our cycle for greater insight into menstrual patterns.

Can you please share the picture of what you can see there? As we might have to escalate this.

See you around.

Hiya Yojana

So the top image is as my female health tile looks when I first enter it.  You'll see I've logged things on the days I had my period (the little black dots) and they have stayed but the actual pink highlight hasn't.  But the second image is when I press the pencil and these are thee dates that show as already highlighted. Screenshot_20181127-223634.jpg

I'm honestly puzzled as I'm doing everything right.

I'm having the same exact problem, did you manage to find a solution? As my edited periods are not saving but go to my edited date when I try to enter the longer period and its annoying so I'm still logging on my phone calendar so I dont forget

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @TautoroHard! As suggested, try doing the following:

  • Make sure that your Fitbit app is up-to-date
  • Log out of your Fitbit app
  • Force quit the app
  • Turn off the Bluetooth
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes
  • Turn on the Bluetooth
  • Log back into your Fitbit app

Once you've done that, try going to Settings in the top right corner. It should bring up the option to remove "predictions". Turn it off, set your period then turn predictions back on.

It would say I have a longer period but it won't last me fix it. Everytime I try to fix it it won't save it right so it will go right back to what it was before. I want my app correct to my period not to want the app thinks my period should be for longest time you can't say you have a 4-day period and I never had a 4-day period it all the time it would never change that part to a few like last month or month before that's when it changed but I don't want it having me 7-Day period when I have a 6 day period it used to let me fix it but now it won't

I have the same problem. It is very frustrating that you are not able to save actual changes and not just what is predicted.

I tried Uninstalling the app and reinstalling and the Menstrual Health tracker is working again. I have the same issue as other users stated that it will stop working every once in a while. My new go-to fix is going to be uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Hope this will help anyone else that is still experiencing issues in 2022
