Hi everyone, I just got my FitBit yesterday and I'm already having a blast. I've been on three short walks already and I can feel muscles I didn't have. I love all the charts and progress reports provided.
Does anyone have the Aria scale? I have a fairly new scale but am wondering about getting the whole thing together to make sure all the recordings actually get done.
P.S. Looking for friends...
---Brian

Hi to everyone!! I've had my FitBit for some time but haven't been diligent with using it. Trying to get on board and start fresh again. Would love to have anyone add me as a friend so we can have loads of support for each other at our endeavors at getting in shape.

Hi. I just got my fitbit late this afternoon and I am looking forward to using it. I think it will motivate me a bit more. I just got cortisone shots in my knees last Friday. I am ready to get back to walking with out much pain. I was able to even go up and down some stairs for the first time in almost 5 years. I happen to be off work tomorrow and have errands, so it will be fun to see what happens.

Hang in there. I got mine in the summer and everyday I tried to do just a couple of more steps than the day before. I was doing well. Then I fell and and broke my kneecap, but even when immobilzed I put my fitbit on everyday so I wouldn't get out of the habit. Now I am doing physical theraphy and I am again trying to do a couple of more steps than the day before. It's not always possible, but I am still trying. 🙂

I am about to take my FitBit back to the store I got it at for a refund. After struggling for over an hour to force the software to download, and another hour searching for where it had been dumped, not I can't set up because it ignores the existance of the device when I plug it in to the USB Port, and I can't even get help, because I'm locked out of everything until I finish the steps I can't finish in set up. I have better things to do with my time than read through reams of blogs to find the scrap of help I need. I am sure this company is proud of the 10 - 15 cents they saved by not including a paper user manual in the box, but it was a VERY VERY BAD idea.
It still won't acknowledge the device.
I'm heading back to the store with this useless piece of plastic now.

Try your BT Dongle in every USB you find on your computer, do not use a USB Hub. One of them and maybe only one of them will work, you also might have to re-boot your computer to reset the hardware and the software.
This is the Dongle

Newbie: I have been fitbitting for the last three days - I find it very motivating. I came from a very active life style to a very sedentary one while going to school and this has resulted in a 40lb increase in body weight so far.... Two more factors involved Menopause and Higher stress levels. I have 2 more years to go in my Clinical Laboratory Science program and 2 national board Exams to pass - I just could not stand watching myself become so unhealthy anylonger. So here I am.
