New owner of a Force bit.  Learning lots of stuff.  Going to try it out on the treadmill and see how I do.  I also use the fitnesspal.  Hoping to lose lots of excess weight!!

You wont be disappointed in your new fitbit. I caught myself doing anything to reach my daily goal. Nothing short of going to walmart when the weather was bad and walking in circles around my house :). I have mine synced with myfitnesspal and feel like it keeps me on the straight and narrow for eating as well. Good luck and congrats on your new purchase!!

Got my flex last week and still figuring out how to sync it with other apps...loving the sleep feature and seeing my steps!

Best Answer
It takes a minute to sync. I had the same issues originally. Congrats

These forums and Fitbit in general....provide needed inspiration. If we weren't in need of it...we wouldn't be fitbitters! So YES to your question

Finally bit the bullet and purchased my Fitbit Force. I'm pretty active as I started training about a month ago for Tough Mudder in July. I don't necessarily need the Force for motivation, but I figured if anything it makes a really sleek watch, lol. Also, I'm a nurse and work 12 hour shifts. I'm on my feet non-stop and always wondered how many calories I burned just at work. I guess I'm about to find out. Hopefully the Force will be able to acurately track my HIT Boxing classes as well.

@MarkZ  - As a nurse, I bet you get more steps in than you think in a day!      I have to laugh at your watch comment, though... for the price of a force, you can get a decent watch  LOL... granted, it wount count your steps for you.

Lol, well yeah the main reason for the purchase was health and fitness tracking, but honestly I like how this looks more than the watch I had. 🙂

I have my first shift tomorrow morning with the force. I'll try to remember to report back my steps total.

I hear ya! I am a nurse as well. Will be doing my first shift on Fri night with the FitBit...wil be interesting. I have worn a podometer before and walked up to 20,000 in one shift!

Wow, yeah I'm imagining I'll tack on about 5 miles through this shift as well.

Hopefully this thing helps me remember to actually drink water.

I am a newbie.  I have never been to a gym.  Very sedentary.  Hope to improve on a slow but progressive scale.

Hi Gurthang,

You really don't have to go to a gym to exersize.  Even if you just started walking everyday after supper or when ever the best time is for you.  That's how I started.  The hardest part is getting started but once you get your butt up off the couch and start, you feel so much better for it.  I am the worst for finding every excuse in the book not to go but then when i realize the weight is coming off, I push myself to get started.

You can do it!!!!

Best of luck to your new beginning.

Youll find yourself doing everything you can to hit your step goals at
first, then after a little bit you won't even notice because you become so
much more active. Good luck keep pushing forward!!

Hey guys, just got my fitbit force yesterday. Love it already. Is there anyway you can follow / make friends on here?

So it was actually a pretty slow/normal shift and still knocked out 11,000 steps and 4.85 miles. Not bad.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone!  I really appreciate and need it.  I actually did pretty good last night.  I need to find me a new scale.
