Thanks so much MzWidow, I need all the encouragement I can get! I've been very lazy the last two days but plan on doing a 5K tomorrow!

Just got started today and finding the fitbit gadget great fun and easy to use. My main exercise is brisk dog walking and now realise I need to double it in distance to reach the 10K step target. Also on 5+2 diet which is fairly easy and working well after 2 weeks. The food log on the dashboard seems rather American orientated but maybe there is a UK version (?). My only concern so far is that I'll lose it or leave it in my pocket and it goes in the washing machine. Maybe on the blet is safer (?). Anyway, hoping it will encoutrage me to do more each week.

Someone gave me a Charge as a gift. So far, having no fun with it. Don't know what it does.
Like the idea of it tracking my sleep and waking me up.
How/where do you find out how to set the alarm?

The alarm is set through the device setting on the web or the phone.

Your manual can be found here http://help.fitbit.com/resource/manual_charge_en_US

@ukuga what device are trying to setup your tracker with?
On the app log into your account, it will let you know that there is no device paired.
from the computer go to http://www.fitbit.com/setup when you run the software it will go through thr setup new device. You want to use the existing account option.

I got my fitbit flex today. I'm very confused. I got it set up and I'm of course part of the community. I didn't get a manual. Are there any short cuts for how to set up your stride, or does the fitbit figure it out for you?
Thanks

Alibug, There's an online manual; I found mine from a link someone else posted here.
My Fitbit is the One but I'm sure there's a manual for your Flex there too. I found it for the Flex; hope this link works. If it doesn't work, go to help on the website and in search box type "manual flex"

I've been using the Fitbit for about 1 year. My daily goal is 5 miles (Around 11,000 steps). Every day I invite people to challenges who are in the 10k-12k average daily steps. I invite people 8k-9k average steps to daily goal challenges. If you are interested, please send me an invite.
For everyone who is new -- stick with your Fitbit goals and you WILL see changes! I lost 3 1/2 lbs last week by making sure I met my daily goals: 5 miles of walking a day, 11,000 daily steps, 64 ounces of water daily, 30 minutes of active minutes daily.
If you are wondering about my diet, I'm not really on one. I stopped drinking soda for the most part and I try to limit my intake of processed foods. That's it. Nothing fancy, and I don't count calories.
Good luck on your Fitbit Journey!

If you leave the Stride at "0" Fitbit will calculate your stride for you, based on height and age. See this link for help setting your stride, There are also several videos on youtube on this subject. Please look at the Help area there is much info to be found there.
As for as ways to get my steps I find the Goal Day Challenge pushes me the most. I'm not interested in doing major steps just want to hit my Goal, and this challenge is based on hitting your daily goal. My Goal is 10K, I have a friend that is working on 5K and another at 20K. In the Goal day challenge we all are on even grounds, and if we all hit our goals we are all winners!

Hi
I just went to help and FAQ and the only way I can figure out how to add someone as a friend is to send an email invitation. I am thinking we don't want to post our email addresses publicly here so that doesn't make sense.
Hopefully someone more experienced will help us!
Janice
