Break in workout = increase heart rate

I was working out every day for months and my heart rate was around 59. I recently started a very demanding program on top of teaching, on top of working so I have had ZERO time to workout. I just checked my resting heart rate, and it now says it’s 65. To me, that’s a big jump. It’s been like that for a week and I haven’t even noticed. I eat healthy, drink lots of water, and hardly drink. Just my workouts have stopped.

is this normal? I’m bummed about the increase but I’m also of the kind that I don’t want it to be something bad.

Hi @Brittneyneff

Nothing abnormal about that kind of change. My resting heart rate fluctuates just like that, 59 when I'm working out and not under a lot of stress and up to 66 at high stress and zero cardo for extended periods of time. I think you will find if you go back to working out your heart rate will quickly drop.

Best of luck!
