Ok so my friend reminded me of the importance of recognizing burnout and self care. We both work in healthcare and have reached that point recently.
So, what is burnout? Burnout is when your job or life in general causes you so much stress that you tend to experience negative emotions, such as anger, fatigue, and not giving it your all.
What I want to know is what you do to help combat burnout? With me, once I clock out at work, I do nothing that relates to work in any way. I don't answer phone calls, texts, nothing. Second, I spend time on activities I do enjoy, such as playing my Ukulele, taking performance art and American Sign Language classes, Spanish classes, and watching movies (this weekend's showing is "Field Of Dreams", which I have never seen).
I also focus on my cruises. I have 3 upcoming cruises, with a hold on a 4th. Three of the cruises are on the same ship, one is on another ship. One of the cruises is a Halloween cruise, the others are catch up cruises from the "No Sail Order" issued by the CDC in 2020 (which just got rescinded in May, with certain COVID protocols in place).

Thank you for sharing @DramaQueenDiva. I spend a good portion of my time at working focusing on organizational health and effectiveness, which includes employee wellbeing. My team recently wrote an article that might be of interest -- The restful workday: Staying productive by taking breaks that might be of interest.
