Heart rate recovery when sick?

I’ve had a chest cold the past few days and I’ve noticed my resting heart rate is higher than normal, which I know is expected. However, I felt okay enough to do a bit of cardio today and noticed it took significantly longer for my heart rate to drop back down to normal. Has anyone else experienced this/know if it’s normal?

Hello & welcome @benny17

Sorry to see that you've been sick.

Since our heart rate typically goes up when we are sick, it makes sense to me that it would take longer for our heart rate to drop back down to normal after a cardio workout. As long as you aren't getting a high heart rate notification while you're in recovery phase from your workout, I think you're fine.

Sending you lots of healing vibes that you get over your chest cold quickly so you can get back to normal activities and heart rate.
