Hi fellow fitbitters,
A little background first, so I am a 33yo man who has spent most of his life overweight(19st 8lbs when I started this journey), I work as a software dev so I spend a lot of time sat in front of my PC and don't move around a lot.
I recently decided to get healthy, so in April I started to diet and decided to become more active. I went out and got myself an inspire 3 to help get me motivated.
Since getting it I have become paranoid about my heart rate, first off it seemed quite high especially when I did light activity, it could be around 132 when just having a stroll. I went and saw the GP they have done a few tests but so far they have all come back okay other than my high blood pressure but I am waiting on a 24hr monitor to see if I have an issue.
But I have also been noticing that when I have been sat down for a while either at my desk or on the couch my hr can go down to around 52, which is now making me paranoid.
So I want to know if anyone else's hr gets as low? I know that athletes can have a HR like that but I am certainly not an athlete.
But I have still been exercising mainly going on walks, I try and walk each day, around 1-2 miles per walk, slowly building up for further walks, now as I gone on brisk walks my hr is around 110 - 122, which is much better.

@diggidy I'm not a doctor so I can speak only from my own experience. I kind of was in your shoes once. My resting HR usually was quite low despite being unfit (and that's an understatement). Some people have lower resting heart rate and it's absolutely fine. Also, I don't see 52BPM as low. My wife recently started running and her resting HR dropped from 80 to 62ish quite quickly. My resting (not lowest) HR used to be under 60 when I was obese. My situation changed over the years so my HR dropped even more. As of now, my resting HR is 38bpm and while I'm typing this response, I see it changing between 49 to 51bpm (gets even lower during boring meetings 🙂 ). If your GP says everything is fine, and you had some tests done and you fill fine (for example, your heart rate doesn't get stuck at very low, no dizziness etc.) then probably there is nothing to be worried about. There are lots of people like that because we are not genetically the same.
