We all have that one success story that inspires us, whether it's our own story or someone else's. Its important to remember that some of the most famous success stories started out as complete failures.
What success story has helped you to feel inspired and persevere so you don't give up on your goals and dreams? Feel free to share your thoughts.
Best AnswerHere is a negative that turned into a success story. I went back to school in my 30s to complete my business degree. A computer class was required. It was a “weeder” class. The professor’s teaching methods were not helpful and he was very unapproachable. He gave us a programming assignment. We were allowed to work in groups but none of us were able to figure out how to complete it. One of the people in my group was friends with a programmer. He tried to help us but could not. He was not able to do it! I was brave and sought the professor’s help during office hours. He got upset with me, saying if I could not figure it out, then I had no computer aptitude.
I tried my best with my team to do what we could. I barely passed that class! But I could not accept what he said about me. It motivated me to later teach myself some programming, just to prove I could. Then I moved on to a successful career in computers/IT. I confess, if he had not been so firm in his judgement of me, I may not have been so motivated to prove him wrong.
Moral of the story - do not blindly accept what others think of you.

Wow that's a great story of success and perseverance, @SunsetRunner! Programming and computer science is such a rewarding a career, but I think most people, including me, think of it as something that's too difficulty or complicated. Sometimes we just have to persevere and not give up on our goals. 😎
