Did you mean:

You know you're a Fitbit addict when...

  • You pace the house to get to a particular figure before going to bed
  • You sit down when recharging as you don't want to 'waste' any steps
  • You park further away from the shops to gain extra steps

I too have gone walking in the dark or the rain just to get my steps in. I'll walk around the house even just to make that 10,000 step mark. I find I do park further away than I used to, and one night I even dreamed that I had walked 50 miles in one day! What was even better is that my weight dropped 2 lbs the next morning!

I had a nightmare that woke me up in the middle of the night.  I was dreaming that I fell just short of my 10K for the day. I woke up at two AM and i was mad that it was after midnight.  I checked my app, saw that I was just over 10K and went back to bed

I ask my friends how many steps they walked every 10 minutes. Then I start to walk before my buddy HR syncs, in that way when my tracker syncs I have more steps than them. Smiley LOL

You sit at your desk in your bedroom, careful not to move out of your seat until your FitBit (in my case Charge HR) is completely charged via laptop.

You take the FitBit off last moment before entering the shower to get extra steps.

You almost get in the shower with the FitBit on because you're used to wearing one.

You immediately get out of the shower and place the said FitBit back on your wrist, carefully not taking any other steps until it's secured on a dry arm.

Today I went to a restaurant and I thought: How many steps does the waitress walk?

Best Answer

you know your addicted when you ride a stationary bike and put your arm on your leg so the steps will count.

In general...what ever the figure is before you're ready for bed..you try and round it off so a) is even and b) most likely to have the first two numbers being anything and the other three being 000 OCD or not I don't like finishing with something like 12,879 thats just annoying

I have only had my Fitbit for a few weeks,  first a Flex which I won at work and within a fortnight upgraded to a Charge HR...  I find myself pining when the darned thing is charging... I'm like a child whose blankie is in the washing machine.

I do that too @Krissey, charging time seems like forever, but the waiting time is worth it lol. Smiley Happy

I have found my best time to recharge my FitBit is while I am at the computer deleting unwanted or dont have the time to read, e-mails. That usually takes an hour..   I always charge my FB at my computer and I never have any problems.

Definitely a good advice @Sunnylane, time goes by really fast sitting in front of a computer, that may be the best time to charge it. Smiley Happy

You know you're a Fitbit addict when......the homepage for your laptop is your Fitbit dashboard....
Not sure why it works for some people and not for others.  My whole office (30-ish people) got Fitbits from our employer last summer. I think only about 4 people still actively wear them. I think everyone thought they would be magic and we all know it's a tool--- sure it has some magical qualities!--- but you still have to do the work.  Interestingly I have had trouble convincing most of them that the 10k steps as a goal is a bit arbitrary. I find that my personal "lose weight" number is about 16k steps a day. My "stay fit" number is more about 13500  per day. I don't run or climb stairs much due to bad knees, so maybe that is because I walk. Anyway: LOVE MY FITBIT. I wear it on my bra and wonder what people think when I suddenly clutch at my chest to make sure it is there.
