Did you mean:

You know you're a Fitbit addict when...

  • You pace the house to get to a particular figure before going to bed
  • You sit down when recharging as you don't want to 'waste' any steps
  • You park further away from the shops to gain extra steps

You know you're addicted:

  1. When you go to the supermarket and steer the cart with your dominant hand because the Fitbit is on the other hand
  2. When you continue to walk the supermarket aisles even though you've bought everything on your list
  3. When you park way across the parking lot, even though you've already met your goal steps

You know its exactly 1900 steps from the supermarket door to your home, and that if worse comes to worse and your under goal, you can always find a reason to go to the supermarket.

Whether you believe you can or believe you can not you are probably right

I am Aussie and live in England, and our toilet and bedrooms are upstairs. I will not go to the loo or put things away unless my fitbit is on!

Hi,

I must have been doing it wrong. I have been steering the cart with my dominant hand and wearing the flex on the non-dominant. I thought that resting my hand on the cart would cause a miscount.

Hi Strider, Yes we have been guilty of these routines, believe me. But, it just proves that you want the fit bit to work for you, and it will. Just use it as it is intended to used for and make it a routine in your life. You need to give it an honest trial. You will find out that it can benefit your life; Everyone can use a little health guide in their life. I have made an attempt to use it everyday and I am glad that I did.

Good luck with your Fit Bit.

I know I am addicted when my family asks if I am tired that I should take a rest but I complain about I am not at my goal for the day. I am trying to be at 3,000,000 steps withen a year of using my fitbit and it is quite the challenge but its summer.

You are right. I am new to Fitbit but am already addicted. I had to charge my Fitbit on Friday. This is when my friend was to get to my home for a night of Fireworks. Well, he was at a train station and I went to get him. Not only was my Charge charging but so was my phone. I "wasted" steps looking for him at not one train station but two. Got home and found that the train that was to show up after 6 PM arrived rather early.

I also noticed that I am checking the site or app after each time I do any walking. This includes going to printers, the cafeteria and other areas at work. I just have to see how many steps I 'racked up' when I sit most of the day for my work week.

I usually check my Fitbit around 8 pm. If  I am not where I need to be on my step count, this is where my large Airedale Terriers gets nice long walks.  Good excercise for me, and good for the dog too.  AND   I get my extra steps to reach my daily goal.

Great news! I have only had my Fitbit for a couple of weeks. I don't know what I would do if I would survive without one.

How did you survive without one?

You know you are a fitbit addict when you accidentally mixed up yours and your significant other's and are wearing theirs for the day and are kinda freaking out about all the data not being tracked correctly since they have yours.

It is not easy. I find myself marching in place, then wonder how may steps
I have taken when I see nothing on my wrist. I wore a pedometer for a few
days and it just was not the same. The new fitbit was shipped this morning
so I will still have to wait until next week. And that is sooooo long away.

Today, I had a harrowing experience as a Fitbit addict.

Went to check my steps via my iPhone. I got the warning that your battery is low. ... almost thought it was my iPhone until I remembered  that I charged it last night. That is when it dawned on me that my Fitbit was going to die if I didn't get it charged and soon.

Now this would bother me so much (if you believe that then I have a bridge to sell you) since I got my 10,000 steps in. However, I am in two work week challenges and I have been in first in one and 2nd, 3rd or 4th in the second. I had charge my Fitbit when I got home but before leaving for church. During that time, I had to take my dog out. Flashing through my mind: YOU ARE WASTING STEPS THAT SHOULD BE COUNTED!!!!

No, I am not addicted to my Fitbit (twitch...twitch).
