I am currently waiting for my 4th replacement Fitbit in 2 months. Each one has the battery suddenly die. It might go from 50% to dead in a matter of hours. If I am lucky I might get 1-4 days on average. All of this started right after an Fitbit app update in early June.
I have tried turning off all day sync, and this has no effect.
I have tried rebooting my phone and the Fitbit, with no effect.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app, with no effect.
At this point, I think that there is some other issue going on.

How are you charging it?
Charging has nothing to do with the app
See this thread for charging best practices. If you are not charging it correctly you could be damaging the battery

I am charging it with the provided charger and plugged into a USB port. The charging practices in that thread all, as mentioned, will damage the battery over time. Having had 3 Fitbit Ones all exhibit the exact same issue, two of which were less than 2 weeks old, points to this not being a charging issue or battery issue but a software or firmware issue.
