7 day steps

I cannot figure out how the 7 day step count is calculated. From the dasboard, I choose friends and it lists everybody's count, but mine always seems by my calculations to be more like the previous 5 days.

This tile shows the total steps taken so far today plus the total steps for the previous 6 days. At midnight each day the oldest day's steps are removed to make way for the new day. It is a rolling 7 day total so, once you have at least a week's worth of data, your total will always go down at midnight

Are any of your steps from a manually logged activity or 3rd party app as these don't count towards that total?

Wait, if you manually log steps/exercise those steps don't count toward your 7 day total??

@K-got That's right - manually added steps do not count towards challenges, badges or the friends tile total
