Are replacements refurbished?

I got a fitbit one for Christmas of 2014. It worked great until one day it just started turning off even with a full battery. Fitbit sent me a new one. That one died very quickly. Would charge, but wouldn't do anything without being plugged in. They sent me another new one and this new one died today. It won't do anything. Won't turn on, no battery sign, nothing. I am wondering if I just have really bad luck or if the "new" ones they have sent me are really refurnished ones? I am pleased that they have replaced them, but would rather not call again and waste an hour just to get another one that will die in a few weeks or months. It can't be normal to need to replace them so often.

Replacements may be refurbished.

I'm not sure if the warranty is the same everywhere but in the UK it says:

"If a hardware defect arises and a valid claim is received by Fitbit within the Warranty Period, Fitbit will, at its option and to the extent permitted by law, either (1) repair the Product at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts or (2) replace the Product with a new or refurbished Product."

You can check your warranty at www.fitbit.com/returns

Hi, @Ocsbs , I think you have had a somewhat unusual experience.  The Fitbit One is mostly very reliable.  I wonder if you have tried the restart procedure ?  That might get you back going again.  Sometimes it takes two or three tries, and do be sure that you hold the button for long enough (it says 10-12 seconds, but can actually take 20-30)

Welcome @Ocsbs. As @SteveH mentioned and to clear thing up a little, replacements from Fitbit may involve either new or refurbished materials, depending on the situation, and this apply to all the countries where the tracker can be replaced directly by Fitbit. The difference between UK is the period of warranty, as in some countries is for 365 days, in European Economic Area is for 2 years.

In case you received a refurbished tracker, first is thoroughly tested and sanitized, to make sure they don't have any technical issues. So I wonder if the great suggestion from  @Julia_G have worked to resolved the issue with your One?

Hope everything is fine and keep me posted if something is not working as it should.
