Auto sync works but manual sync does not

I have an issue with making my fitbit one sync manually. However it will auto sync whenever I am near my PC. I have to open my dashboard from the task tray using the go to "Fitbit.com dashboard" and let my tracker auto sync. If I use the "Sync now" command it will continually search for my tracker but never find it. I have did the reset on my device many times but still not working as it should. Any thoughts?

Hi @strat43. I am usually able to solve this issue with the following steps:

  1. Log out of Fitbit Connect
  2. Unplug the USB dongle
  3. Clear you browser cache
  4. Do a complete computer shutdown.
  5. Reboot and once disc activity has ceased, plug the dongle back in and wait for Windows to recognize it.

This worked for me on both Win 10 desktop and MacBook OS X El Capitan. I had to do this perhaps two or three times over the last few months.

Thanks for the info. Performed the steps you suggested but unfortunately I am still having the same problem. I have 2 dongles and both are acting the same and on different computers as well. I am running Windows 7 if that makes a difference although it has worked for months and just started doing this a few weeks ago.

It is no wonder that fitbit's stock is down $16.00 per share since January. I have had my One for less than a year and everytime I have a problem with it the stated solution is "do a reset". I have probably reset my tracker 50 times or more uninstalled and reinstalled another 20 times. I work in the electronics industry and if our product had to be reset every week, we would not be in business. And the problem with the food log not showing the right quantities!!! That problem has been going on since the daylight savings time switch (March 13) and is still not fixed. Currently the only way my tracker can sync is with the auto function. I can no longer do a manual sync. (It is not recognized). When the auto function finally quits, and I am sure that it will, I will not be buying another fitbit. There are other activity trackers on the market that would love my business.
