Dead battery/no display on One

I've let my One languish on my dresser for about a month because I bought myself an Alta (that I love). Now I want to give the One away but nothing is showing up on the display. In the past when I've plugged it into the computer to charge it, the battery level shows up right away. I get nothing on my screen and I wonder if my neglect has rendered this machine useless. Any thoughts?

I guess I spoke too soon. I pressed the reset button, and a little while longer the display is working fine.
