Desktop icon there, not active

The SYNC NOW option on my desktop is 'gray'ed out' (see below).  In  other words it is not clickable.  This happens occasionally, and it seems to correct itself over time.  However I would like to sync and am frustrated at the inability.   i have tried the troubleshooting tips (i.e. place in dongle, hold, remove, etc).   Still stuck.  Any suggestions?

@Kegan36604 I hope you're doing well! Please try plugging in the USB dongle on a different USB port. Try different USB ports. Also, reboot your computer. If you have another USB dongle, try using that one as well.

 

You could also try syncing with a supported mobile device, which is a great option for syncing as well.

Those are good workarounds, however I wish for the sync to work wirelessly from my computer.   I deleted the FB app and will look to reinstall it.  I'm hoping that will work.   I appreciate your response.
