Discrepancy in steps

I am noticing a difference between the number of steps displayed when I finish a timed activity (just before I stop the timing) and the number which eventually appears in the Activity Log.  The latest:

End of activity    Activity Log   Difference

3739                   3588             151

3527                   3400             127

4721                   4594             127

Why this discrepancy I wonder?  Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi @Jrby and welcome to the Community.

There shouldn't be such discrepancies, especially not on the negative side. Just so I understand, the first column is the number you saw on your Fitbit One's display when you stopped the timer, correct? And then, when you subsequently sync'd to your device (PC or phone, which ever), your activity log shows a lesser number, as shown in the second column. Can you please confirm that the first column represents the actual step count on the One per se. One explanation could be a manual record that overlays part of the timed activity record. Can you please check your activity and sleep logs for possible manual logs that would overlap the timed activities.

Which device are you using to look at your dashboard?

The first column represents what the One displayed at the end of a
particular activity. I have not created any manual logs which might have
affected the activity record which is accessed via the dashboard on my PC.
