I have an older Fitbit One so I should probably know the answer to this, but I don't. At some point in time, I set up my goal to "Exercise 5 days." I almost never look at the Fitbit dashboard on my laptop, I just use the phone app, and I don't have the tile for exercise on my phone app, so I haven't realized (for a reallllly long time) that I'm almost never meeting my exercise goals because the One doesn't seem to "know" intuitively when I'm exercising. (I guess I thought it would know that I'd exercised and met my goal because of Active Minutes. But apparently the only time it knows I've exercised and met my goal is when I've accidentally left my One behind and had to manually log a walk/run.) Can someone please explain to me in simple words (ha ha) how to get my One to recognize/communicate to the app that I have exercised?

Use the start/stop button. Same as sleep. It will recognize exercise this way. You can rename it after it syncs as well
The One does not have smart track

When your devices syncs if you use the start/stop button it will create a record on your activity page.
You can then use the pencil on the right hand side to Edit it and name it what you want
The record will not appear unless you use the start.stop button.
This is for the computer. You can edit on the phone app but sometimes it works and others times it kicks you out of the app. So I always do it on the computer
