I am very displeased with how Fitbit has handled its relationship with its customers. Until recently, I was able to sync my Fitbit One on my computer running Windows 8.1. Fitbit has decided that its Fitbit Connect will only run on Windows 10, an operating system I do not care for. That means I am no longer able to sync my Fitbit One on my computer. I am a very, very unhappy Fitbit customer.

Hi @Kidlike using Windows 8.1 myself and use my Android phone to sync. Windows 8.1 stopped being put on computers in 2018, so it is a bit older. Is there a mobile device you could use? Even those system requirements have changed over the years. Android 8 is the minimum now.

Hi, Jogger. I have Blackberry cell phones. No one makes apps for Blackberrys. I prefer syncing on my computer because it allows me to view my progress on a broader scale. I can see all the badges I have accumulated during the time I have been a Fitbit customer. I didn't realize Fitbit is owned by Google. I am also not a fan of Google. I don't like Windows 10, primarily because it has software that will track where I have gone on my laptop. I don't like being spied on. I am very disappointed that Fitbit has decided to not allow my preferred OS - Windows 8.1 - to access Fitbit Connect. Thanks for letting me know that my attempt to load Fitbit Connect on my laptop will never happen.

Hi, Odyssey13. You can still download Windows 8.1 at their website. My cell phones are Blackberrys. No one makes apps for Blackberrys anymore. Blackberry is supposed to have a 5G phone available by the end of the year. I'm going to replace my current Blackberry with a newer Blackberry. Security is everything for me when using my cell phone.

Sad to say that my Windows 8.1 Fitbit Connect, using a dongle, stopped working quite a while ago @Kidlike . I use my Android phone now.

Odyssey13,
I'm not a fan of the "powers that be" telling me how I can use the tools I bought from them. I think privacy in this country sucks because people have acquiescent to the options they are given, no matter how few those may be. I know that when I am long dead and gone, people will still be able to see my Facebook account. I regret the day I got my Facebook account. I thought it was going to be similar to My Space. I was so wrong about what I expected from Facebook. I don't think any of us planned for things to get so out of control.

@Kidlike Facebook has a legacy feature where you can choose someone to do whatever would be necessary to close your account and save any pictures for your friends or family. If you don't make a decision, they will keep your page open and public until Facebook closes their doors.
