Fitbit One Battery charge will not hold past one day

This is my second Fitbit One.  This One will not hold a charge for one day.   Then when One is placed into the re-charge cable, it re-charges in about 15 minutes.   I think Fitbit has built-in obsolescence.   Or, just not built to last longer than a year!   Not buying another.

Hello there @rbailen15, I'm sorry to hear you are having this issue. I can tell in my personal experience as Fitbit user, the One is the most reliable trackers of the past generation. Clearly something odd is going on here as the tracker takes around 3 hours to have full battery charge.

So probably you know this, but I recommend to try a restart. If you need the steps for this troubleshoot take a look at my friends @MarreFitbit post.

If this is not doing the magic, take a look at your charging cable and tracker's gold contacts to see if they are clean. It wont hurt to give it a clean just to make sure the battery is receiving properly the charge; as this might be one of the reason your tracker's battery is running out of charge in less than a day.

  • Use hand sanitizer and a tissue or dampen a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol and carefully clean the charging contacts on your tracker and charger.
  • If a cotton swab does not fully remove the dirt or debris, use a toothpick or toothbrush.
  • Do not submerge your tracker in water or use abrasive cleaners.
  • Thoroughly dry your tracker before attempting to charge it.

Keep me updated how it goes, I'll be around in case something new comes up.
