Fitbit One Discharges on train and bus

On my last two trips (one via train and one via bus), my Fitbit One, which had been fully charged, totally discharged on the train and bus.  I couldn't use it since it had to be reset via a computer.  Why did this happen, and what can be done for future travel?

How long does your battery last when you are not traveling? Lithium Ion batteries do not last forever and every charge slightly weakens them. It may be time for a new tracker.

I don't have a problem with the battery, which lasts about 6 days.  Before each of these trips, I charged the battery the night before I left. After the next day's travel, the battery was 0 and I couldn't use the fitbit for the entire trip since I had not taken the charger.
