Fitbit One Not Syncing with New Galaxy S7 Edge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I recently upgraded my phone from a Samsung Galaxy S4 to the new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. I have went to setup the Fitbit application on my new phone and now I am having issues syncing with my Fitbit One. As I have completed some reseach on this issue, I am finding that the Fitbit app is not yet supported for the Galaxy S7 Edge. This is how I want to sync my Fitbit One. I have a computer but do not want to install more apps there plus I am not around this computer enough for syncing purposes. I have a chromebook but it appears this is not supported from a syncing viewpoint either. How can I get my Fitbit One to sync to my account? This is a big deal. There is no reason this should not be supported by the new S7 Edge, and if not now it should be really, really soon. Help! Help!

Thanks,

Jody Wood

Hi @JodyW14 and @SunsetRunner.

The S7 uses the latest OS Marshmallow. In order to sync, both Bluetooth and Locations Services must ber turned ON. The following link to the help files addresses this:

http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/Android-device-compatibility/?q=marshmallow&l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1

Hope this helps. Cheers!

Thank you for your kind response

However where do I find the location services?

Being a smart phone and android newbie, I cannot seem to find anything.

I have looked under the main phone settings with no luck

I look forward to hearing from you

Hi @SunsetRunner. I don't know, sorry, I don't have the pleasure to own one of those fancy phones. I read on the Web about yours - it's a nice one indeed! It has to be somewhere in settings - just poke around and you'll find it. Cheers!

I have Bluetooth on and Location services on. It appears my fitbit One is not an option showing up in the Bluetooth list to connect too. How do I get it to appear?

Location services is found under Settings and then Location Services.

Hi @JodyW14

Fitbit trackers do not sync via your phone's Bluetooth functionality (althought Bluetooth must be turned ON) but with the Fitbit app.Turning off Bluetooth and back on again after twenty seconds or so might do the trick - which you may have to repeat two to three times for the process to stick. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Add me to the string.  I find the Samsung S7 Edge is always delayed, reflecting fewer steps than the Fitbit One itself.  I sure hope they get this figured out.  Don't know if those with the wrist units are having better luck.  I, myself, like the Fitbit One clip attachment.  I am a regular watch wearer & don't want to have something else on my wrist.

Hi @sunansnow. What is the magnitude of the delay you're experiencing? Fitbit trackers are not meant to sync continuously 24 x 7, but only periodically during the day, even with all-day sync enabled. Otherwise, the battery would drain much too fast.

Were you ever able to sync your One to your Galaxy s7?  I am considering switching from the iphone 5c to the Samsung and I was looking at an s7 or s7 edge.  I want to make sure it will work with fitbit first.

Yes I was finally able to get my Fitbit One to sync with my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

I believe the problem was really with the Fitbit One. In looking back at my details, it had not been syncing with my previous phone for a few weeks. In working with Fitbit chat support, they had me restart the Fitbit One. After that the phone app started seeing and connecting with my Fitbit One again, thus being able to sync. 🙂

Oh good.  I've been waiting for my contract on my iphone 5c to end so I could get the new Galaxy.  My son has the S6 edge and he loves it, but I really wanted to get the newest one, not an older model.  I couldn't find the S7 listed as a compatible device though and I really like to sync to my phone.  I can use my desktop at work, and I have a laptop at home, but I rarely use it because the phone is so much more convienent. I just wanted to make sure I would be able to sync my One to whichever new phone  go with.

My Samsung S7 does find and sync with my Fitbit One but the result is not accurate. The Fitbit itself is typically several hundred steps ahead. I have the same problem with my Samsung Tab S2 tablet. My Fitbit is over 2 years old so I'm wondering if there is a technology gap. Both of my Samsungs are the newest models. I may have to try restarting my Fitbit😯

Add me to this string.
I upgraded to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge from Galaxy S4.  I cannot sync with my phone at all any more, even with bluetooth and location turned on.

I had issues with my One syncing to my computer after it upgraded to Win10 as well; did a re-start with the One and it began picking it up.

But I still cannot seem to get the phone to "get it" yet.  Rather inconvenient.
Any idea when the S7 Edge might come on the supported list?

I have been having issues as well with syncing - I can't figure out what is wrong. I thought after I got the latest upgrade for the Fitbit it was better but is now acting up again. It's like both my Samsung S7 and the Fitbit dongle, if I am using the computer, can't locate my Fitbit. I have reset the FItbit, many many times. It is beyond frustrating, as I don't think I should continuouskly have to reset my Fitbit. I even saw on another thread that you should unpair your Fitbit One from your account after the upgrade and repair, which I did. It was fine for a couple of hours, then it started being spotty again. It will sync, but only from time to time - so if I go into my app and ask it to sync it won't. But maybe later it will?? Then often the display on the app is not the most current and has older step count, though if I click on the steps and go to the graph page the most current count is there. Fitbit please please fix this! My unit worked perfectly for two years and only recently have all these problems been surfacing. I have no interest in one of the wrist units, I do not like to wear a watch - love my Fitbit One style.

Every time I try to connect it to bluetooth it says 'pairing rejected by "one" '...

I've turned bluetooth on and off several (like 20) times

I've restarted the one several times as well.

What gives???Woman Mad
