Fitbit One Not Updating Its Firmware

I was given this fitbit second hand as mine got destroyed. it's on firmware 6.46, the app says it needs an update, so I followed the steps to no avail, it fails everytime. I have even tried restarting the fitbit, restarting my phone, nothing. I also tried to update it using my computer, and followed the same steps of restarting both the fitbit and my computer. I am at my wits end. What do I do?

@HelenKeith Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for taking the time to post that you are also experiencing difficulties to update your Fitbit One.

 

I'd recommend trying all of the troubleshooting steps shown here in order to sort this out. This should certainly help you out with this.

Hi @SantiR  

I have tried all the steps in your link and my ONE is still saying "Firmware Update Available" but won't update.  When I select "Firmware Update Available" the next screen says "Update Tracker Software".  It starts a sync for several minutes then says failed.  I'm about to throw this ONE and my phone in the trash.  Help!  (the online chat person was as frustrating as trying to do this myself.)

I also tried all the troubleshooting steps multiple times and tried using my phone, my ipad and a PC. I made sure the Fitbit One was only connected to one device at a time. I rebooted all the devices, rebooted the one. My phone gives an error message 500. The PC says “could not complete your Fitbit One update”. The ipad says “Firmware update could not be started because the system is busy.”

Hi,

No solution was found. I was essentially told that there is nothing to be done, and they offered me a discount to buy another tracker

Yea, that's what I thought.  We have had fitbits since they first came out.  I'm a holdout with my One (don't like the wrist options) but my husband gave up on them and switched to another brand after so many failures with FitBit.  

This is their way of getting folks to upgrade, I guess.  I'll keep doing what I have for as long as I can, then will have to check other brands too.

Hi everyone, did any of you solved the problem?

I have Fitbit One on firmware 6.46, I tried to follow the step to update it bu it fails everytime.
I tried restarting the fitbit, my phone, I uninstalled and re-installed the app both on my phone and on my pc but there's nothing I can do...

Please, if anybody knows a solution, I'm starting to getting desperate ._.

After trying everything, support determined my one was not working & gave
me a new one at a discounted price.

I am having the same problem. I have tried restarting the one and tried updating via my phone, pc and tablet. Every time it fails. Is there any way to update? How long will it work being that far behind on its firmware?

Fitbit is no longer supporting the One, it’s obsolete. I purchased a Xiaomi Mii Fit, it’s cheap and works great.
