I accidentally went swimming with my Fitbit One yesterday. I dried it immediately and it still worked; however it died overnight. I see Fitbit doesn’t offer them anymore, so I went on Amazon. I see they were limited numbers there as well. I am considering buying more than one in case I lose or damage another one. My question is this: if I buy a back up how long will the battery last in the unopened package? If I keep it on a shelf for 3 years and open it then, will it be aok? Thanks

I would not recommend buying such an old tracker that has been sitting on a shelf. There's a good chance the battery is permanently damaged.
You can buy the Inspire (not the Inspire HR) and a clip for it if you prefer that type of tracker.

Thanks much. I didnt know the Inspire had a clip one. I will have to look at that.

I sell them with brand new batteries, if you are interested, let me know. The Inspires do not count stairs!

Thanks. How long do the batteries last unopened? I just got a new one, but my concern goes to when I lose this new one in a year or so. I wonder if I buy one now how it will be then. Thanks again

Have had a Fitbit One for years, since 2014 in fact, and it has just stopped functioning - battery empty within days and no notifications. Replaced with an inspire as I prefer to wear using a clip rather than as a watch.
I knew it didn't count stairs which is disappointing but neither does it monitor your sleep when using the clip.
Waste of money and certainly not an improvement on the old One!

I would not buy one thats new in the box after all this time. It might work and most likely not
