My Fitbit One started buzzing and won't stop... is it going to catch fire? How can I disable it?

Could it be that you have a silent alarm set?
I have never used them, but there are articles about silent alarms:
This is one: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1868
It indicates that you can dismiss the alarm by using the button.

No alarm set... it appears that it was letting me know that the "end" was near. It's now dead. 😞

Buzzing will drain the battery pretty quick.
Have you tried anything to revive it? - Like the hard reset.
With the One connected to the charging cable (and trying to charge) hold the button down for about 15 seconds or more (not sure of exact minimum time).
I really like my One, and will be sorry when it dies. I wish they would revive the features and sell it as the "Two".

@BarbaraV58 Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for taking the time to report this situation on this thread. It is very strange; don't worry, it won't catch fire.
I'd recommend performing a restart on your One. That should certainly help you out with this.
@redeacle It's great to see you in the Fitbit forums! Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and help on this thread. It is very appreciated.

My fitbit one is also vibrating like mad and a hard reset does nothing. It stops by itself when the battery has run out. This is my third fitbit one and they all work great for about a year and they they start playing up. Its usually after letting the battery die for too long without being charged up. At the moment the battery is dead so I plug it in to the charger and after a couple of minutes it starts vibrating.
Any ideas before I chuck it and look for something different?

Mine bit the dust after it stopped buzzing - charging didn't help. I've had it 4 1/2 years, so I think mine is just dead. I went ahead and bought a new FitBit. I'm surprised yours only last a year - that doesn't seem right.

I left mine buzzing and on charge and went out for a couple of hours. When
I cam back it had stopped buzzing and after a hard reset seems to work fine
- except now the display is iffy missing a few lines. I think there is
nothing that can be done about that.

@Bigcol88 Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for taking the time to report the situation you are experiencing with your One's vibration. Thanks for trying the restart steps in order to sort this out.
I'm glad to read that the restart steps worked properly for you and that you are back on track now. If the display is still showing those lines you could restart it again in order to sort this out.
@BarbaraV58 Thanks for your reply and for providing those details. Did you tried the restart steps to sort this out?
I'm also glad to read you got a new Fitbit device and that you are back on track now.
