Fitbit One & Steps Decrease after Logging Exercise

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Before Run Steps at 6,200

Run 5 miles (approx 10,000 steps)

After run - open IOS app steps shown at 16,400

Log run as activity to get the exercise day

Steps decrease to 14,100

Any idea why? This is the 2nd time it has done this.

Hi, @xstine, if you manually log an activity it will overwrite the steps that your One detected during the same time period.  You can test this by deleting your log and seeing if your step number goes back up.

I am not sure my post was clear. It is not counting steps when I wear it and run.

After my initial post it seemed to fix itself. Not sure how or why, but now it is back to not counting.

Before my run, my steps are at 7,000

run 5 miles (avg 2,000 steps a mile) = should have 10,000 steps approx from run

add to the 7,000 I had before I ran my total should be around 17,000

after my run I sync and it shows 12,000 steps. 5,000 steps are not accounted for (approx 2.5 miles)

That is a lot of missing steps.
