Fitbit One is No More??

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had several Fitbit Ones over the years and when I went to replace my current one I find that it is no longer available. The Fitbit company should know that not everyone wants to wear their tracking device on their wrist! I liked the discreet nature of the Fitbit One. Now you are forcing me to buy something I have to wear on my wrist so that I can advertise your product. Well sorry, that is not happening. You have lost a customer. Bad move, Fitbit.

The inspire HR may not fit in the clip, it is thicker so may not fit in the Clip it will not be able to read the Heart Rate. Therefore there is no reason to get the Inspire HR.

Accuracy. I'm not sure about. The inspire has a Clip setting and an Arm setting.

The Zip also doesn't have altitude.

I never used the clip anyway, I just slipped it in my pocket. But I suppose the heart monitor wouldn't work in that case anyway. The question is, can the unit be disengaged from the wristband so you have a small item that can fit in a pocket easily?

Yes @ReviewX see the 4th post in the thread.

The inspire can be removed from the wrist band, and will easily fit into a pocket. In fact is is so small, it could be easily lost. I purchased a color Inspire clip on Amazon to give it a little more bulk, and make it easier to spot when I empty my pocket contents.

Yeah - what a bust. On my third Fitbit-One. Accidently washed my first one, forgot to remove it before washing my pants. Called Fitbit about getting another one. Since I had it for more than a year, the warranty was void so I was offered 25% off a new one. Searched Ebay and purchased one, didn't work, returned it and was sent another one. So somehow, I did the same thing and accidently washed it. Thought all hope was gone. Decided to sit it on one of my return air registers in my house and after two days it worked again.  Refuse to wear one on my wrist. Not sure what I will do when this one no longer works. Might try the Inspire, who knows if the Inspire will still be offered when my Fitbit One no longer works.  Since it comes with a clip, do I buy the Inspire now?

I bought an Inspire to compare to the working FitBit One I still have, and
I bought a clip. The step counting accuracy was close to the One, but the
Inspire did tend to count more steps. I do miss the stair flight counting
feature on the One. The One is just a better all around tracker and the
numbers are much bigger than the Inspire. The Inspire's battery life is
also lousy. It only lasts about 3 days between charges. FitBit needs to
come up with a good replacement for the One.

Up until a week or so, I had used a Fitbit One since 2012. I bummed out a couple that got wet, and lost a a few more that slipped out from the silicon clip. I also bought Fitbit ones on eBay with mostly good success. Then they started to get pricey on the eBay Market. I was a member of a local Fitbit community group until Fitbit stopped supporting these groups on the website, I didn't like the way Fitbit dropped the support, and determined not to purchase a pricey, maybe it will work, used Fitbit one on eBay. My Fitbit one stopped syncing a week or so ago, and on a whim. decided to buy an Inspire to carry in my pocket. We will see how it goes. I log onto the Fitbit dashboard every morning to track my weight. That is the main reason I'm not giving up on Fitbit altogether.

Wonder who is doing the market research for Fitbit? It would appear from this post alone, there are enough people to support buying the Fitbit One. Perhaps not enough margin. Poor gross revenue?

Not sure what I am going to do when mine no longer works. Most of the time I clip the One to to my sock when wearing it. Since the Inspire doesn't have favorable reviews. Perhaps one of the watches have large enough bands to fit around my ankle.

That's an interesting idea to wear around the ankle, but I think it would chafe and be uncomfortable.

I loved my One and wore it religiously since 2015 on my pants, skirt, or even my tights.  It never fell off.  This week it finally gave up the ghost and will no longer hold a charge.  I just purchased the Inspire - you can purcase a clip accessory for the Inspire (NOT the Inspire HR) to wear on your waistband.  I also don't want to advertise my Fitbit by wearing it on my wrist.  However, BUYER BEWARE!  The Fitbit Inspire does NOT track stairs/floors like the One did.  If I had realized that before I bought the Inspire, I would have looked at different tracker brands.

Best Answer

There is nothing on the box or on Fitbit that States there is floor counting.

Best Answer

Yes, I know.  Didn't occur to me that a tracker wouldn't count stairs as the Fitbit I had been using for 4 years did.  Wanted others to know they will have to look at other brands if they are wanting to replace their Fitbit One with another tracker that clips on AND counts stairs.

And one would think technology would get MORE sophisticated with a new product, not less so. I am definitely looking elsewhere.

  • Just another Fitbit One fan here throwing in my two cents which I doubt is worth anything to the Fitbit production team.  I've had my FB One for years and only recently started having sync problems and charging problems.  Could this be FB Production telling me something.  Sure they want to sell their wristbands but I will not wear one so I'm off Googling other similar counters.  I'll miss the FB Community of wearers who respond to questions but I won't miss the FB Customer Service community as they have never answered a question of mine.

Hey everyone, interesting thing happened today. I bought the Fitbit Aria Air scale and was having a hard time setting it up so I called customer service and they helped me with it and said they saw I had the Fitbit One and that there was a new update for it. I said I stopped using it a year ago because I thought it was no longer supported. The rep said she didn't know that to be the case and told me to try and update it. I fished it out of a drawer and plugged it into my computer, then went to the app and went to the device on my account page and tried to do the update. First it gave an error message but I googled and found that if you hold the button down for 10 seconds it would come back to life and it did! The scan bar filled across the screen and then when that was complete I pressed "Update" on my phone and it updated it. So Yay it works again!

I went back to my One after wearing a Charge 2.  Tired of something on my wrist.  One will sync but will not auto recognize anything and won't let me add manually. Also, will not show heart rate.

Hi @FreeSpirit99 with the One, holding on the button puts the One into tracking mode. This is used to track an exercise or sleep. Holding in again takes the unit out of tracking mode.

Then after a sync, the user should be able to rename the workout.

As for manually adding, t is is done through the Fitbit app, not the Fitbit One.

@Rich_Laue In all my years of using this I didn't know holding the button tracks exercise (I know it tracks sleep). What exactly does it measure as opposed to the regular steps, distance, and calories?

@FreeSpirit99 unlike your Charge 2, the Fitbit One doesn't monitor heart rate. Regarding activities, you can add these manually from the website, just click on a log then click on the activity and add your exercise in there. I'll sometimes do this when Fitbit misses my bike rides but usually, I don't bother. Personally, I switch between Versa, Charge, Charge HR, Alta HR, One, Zip, and Surge, depending on my mood or whatever. I'm kinda addicted to Fitbitting, LOL Have a happy day!
