My beloved Fitbit One started randomly shutting down on Saturday. The battery is fully charged, but I've had to restart it at least 20 times since Saturday. I've been updated to 6.64 for a while so I'm not sure what is happening. But the prospect of getting a new Fitbit is making me very sad 😭 Any ideas?

Hi @Susan2222 sorry to learn your One is failing. Before throwing questions at you, can you please share more specifics like what might've happened beforehand, either a progression of symptoms or an event proceeding failure? It's been my experience that Ones that begin randomly shutting down or resetting have something faulty on the circuit board level that can't be repaired with resetting or even a battery upgrade. IF you don't get it working, I've got sources for Ones I could share, or you could check out Fitbit's latest offerings. Meanwhile, as 20 reboots a day isn't anything you can work with, please take a moment and set up Mobile Sync from www.fitbit.com/devices and it'll allow you to still track steps using your phone if it resets again.

Hi Williger! It just started out of the blue: I was at work on Saturday and noticed that it had shut down--odd because I had just charged it Thursday night, so it had plenty of battery life. I restarted it, but I noticed it kept shutting down. Today it somehow stayed on long enough to track 2615 steps--but I've taken far more than that. Every time I've glanced at it, it is off.
I did occasionally have trouble syncing my Fitbit with my phone in the last few months, so now I wonder if that was the start of this issue.
I am afraid that I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and get a new Fitbit. I love the One, but I've had it forever, and even great devices stop working 😞

I've got the same problem as Susan, and I'm ready to replace my beloved One if it's possible. Williger, you said you've got sources for Ones -- could you share those?
Thanks.

Hi Susan,
I'm afraid your One likely has experienced a circuitry issue. I do lots of repairs and refurbishments on Ones as I love them so much and have become intimately familiar with them. If a One is randomly shutting down, it's generally nonrepairable (or not worth the labor to troubleshoot). It should, however, continue logging. When it logged your 2615 steps, were they lost when it restarted, or did it continue counting?
If set on the One, I'll help you get one. If you're open to looking at the newer trackers Fitbit offers, you might get a generous discount from their support team by reaching out and letting them know the troubles you're having. I've heard of members here getting 30% discounts on purchasing a new one, and you can add an extended warranty to have peace of mind for the duration you contract for. Inspire is an excellent option as it can be worn on the wrist or clipped to the waist or a bra and has other features like text notifications.
