Fitbit One steps are hit or miss but today...

Today I went for a walk with my wife today, we each have a fitbit one.  We walked a little over 2.5 miles.

Somehow, I ended up with 46 flights of stairs climbed, her zero. Our walk involved no hills - nadda!

I have had issues with my one not counting all steps, that I have grown to live with...

Forty-six flights of stairs is going to effect my calorie count.

Is my One dying? Is there any way to correct the 46 flights of stairs?

Thanks!

Hello @cmcdar, My One also periodically goes crazy with flights of stairs and drastically overcounts. Restarting it has always solved the problem for me, so if you haven't tried that yet, that's a good place to start. You'll find the instructions here: http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186/

You might have to restart it more than once. Some people say to do it three times, though I've never had to do more than twice.

I believe you can get rid of the flights of stairs by making that time period as a Driving activity, but you will lose the steps also, so it's probably just better to live with the steps.

Let us know if resetting it solves the problem for you.
